We've seen a wedding ceremony between a Klingon groom and a Trill bride, but what would the marriage of a human groom and a Klingon bride be like? Which culture would it honor?
In-universe, it might honor either culture or both, depending on the preferences and personalities of the couple. Like in any mixed marriage. But the writers would probably make it mostly Klingon, because they would have more freedom in creating the ceremony.
Whichever partner was Klingon would probably insist that they get a full Klingon ceremony, and they'd probably get it (given how forceful Klingons are). Think of it, though, how likely is it that such a coupling would occur? Most Klingons think humans are weak, so why would a Klingon ever be interested in a human? Look at B'Elanna's parents from that flashback episode. Her dad was such a wuss, what did her mother ever see in that guy?
Someone that she could control? Didn't work though, when the time came he was apparently strong enough to kick Be'Lanna's mom to the curb.
Klingons are said to appreciate poetry on more than one occasion. Could be her dad was a very poetic soul. I mean it's no more strange than Quark wooing over Grilka.
Success wooing a Klingon seems to be tied how the outsider approaches Klingon feudalism and chivalry, of which poetry is no small part. Quark, so much the bourgeois merchant, constantly shows that he is willing to take on the elements of another person's culture and rituals in order to get what he wants. The 24th century humans tends to stand aside and watch. Moreover, Klingons tend to appreciate cultures which are equally feudal and chivalrous. It's still a high hurdle, and there are Klingons who, after all else, insist on endogamy. At the very least, the person wanting to marry a Klingon would have to bring similarly rich traditions (and convictions) in order to convince them to forgo the Klingon wedding.
Klingons always want a challenge. As for K'Ehleyr: We have no idea who her parents were or how they met. For all we know, one of them was a captive/slave of the other and was executed soon after K's birth. Or it could indeed have been a legitimate marriage, one parent could be some badass 'biker' (or whatever the Federation equivalent is) or similar warrior type.
I'd say probably Klingon, because by the 24th century the condition of white guilt has spread to humanity as a whole. But it really depends on the Klingon. There's bound to be a bunch who don't give a crap about their heritage, just because we don't see them on screen very often doesn't mean they don't exist.
IIRC, B'Elanna didn't exactly have that Klingon of a ceremony when she married Tom, did she? Then again she's only half Klingon. And she doesn't go for most of that culture anyway.
I strongly doubt that, as it isn't exactly consistent with the friendlier relations between the Federation and the Klingons in the post-Khitomer era. I seem to remember in one of the Shatnerverse novels, when Kirk marries Telani, their wedding incorporates elements from human, Klingon and Romulan cultures.
Her father was the Klingon, and mother was human. Like Belanna (sp?) she had contempt for her Klingon half. Despite that, she loved Worf.
