Star Trek: Axanar

Their Kickstarter is at about 220 000$ with 11 days to go. A really decent amount but still far from their hoped-for final goal.

 

There's nothing stopping them from starting more campaigns, which I expect them to do.

I quite love techno-babble, because it manages to put more science into fiction.

 

My mistake. The name "bitch, whore" is now officially not offensive so say a large percentage.

You do realize that the 'babble' part of 'techno-babble' was babble with no real science backing it up?

 

Probably not since they'll probably shoot this in the fall at the earliest, and for a 90-minute film I can guesstimate at least 6 months of VFX and post-production work at best...

 

This is especially true when the tertiary modulating framostat starts to go into metagenic overload at the quantum-phase threshold.

Hyperbole helps no one, as it depends on the CONTEXT. But yes, in the full context of how the phrase was presented in 'Prelude to Axanar', I did not find it offensive.

They are projecting a release date sometime around August 2015.

 

I believe he ment that the techno added the science, while the babble is the fiction.

 

Regarding the release date, if you are a Kickstarter backer and if you contribute enough to qualify for a DVD, Axanar currently expects to ship those around Dec. 2014 according to their Kickstarter page.

FYI the Axanar Kickstarter now stands right about $225,000 so they have what they need to rent a facility and start building sets.
