I don't much like Tony Abbott (duh), but this whole sending in AFP and troops to secure the Ukraine crash site, well, I approve. As the meme says, I'm not even angry, I'm amazed. He's acting like a statesman and a leader for his people instead of his normal douchy self..

Watch Hockey torpedo him soon.
Abbott's hoping it will given him a boost in the polls but as pointed out there is no real need to send as many personnel as they are.

Abbott might have learned his lesson after MH370 and shooting his mouth off at big press conferences with information that wasn't correct.

As for sloppy Joe Hockey, he's put foot in his mouth big time.

After running around proclaiming Australia had a "budget emergency" and that all these steps had to be taken or everything would head right up this shitter, he's told people in New Zealand that the Australian economy is just fine.

I must be getting soft in my dotage.

The ABC has a new ad. People being warm, happy, loving, human. Set to an acoustic version of 'Throw Your Arms Around Me'. Anytime I see it, I tear up, adn I don't exactly know why Happy tears, I should add.

Beyond this, I have no words, except to say, the ABC really is a great institution and I really must do more to support it.

This seems to be one of those games I'm not really watching at all. Heck, it's been a while since I watched any FTA TV.

I'm not really either. I've been focused on another sporting event that happens late at night. It's about it end so I might start to pay a bit more attention to the Comm Games. Actually, I definitely will since the Road Race is coming up this week.

^ I'm more focused on some gaming than anything else. I was happy with the league yesterday.

It seems we are still on top of the tally.

I know one person in the Comm games and so far they are doing well.

There. That's my sports for the decade.

i have just remember the show "My Restaurant Rules" and how once again Tasmanians were upset. The show was promoted as being a battle between the Australian states but when the show aired there was no Tasmanian team. When asked why Tasmania was not included the answer was given "we didn't think that there would be a restaurant in Tasmania that was good enough to compete".
Of course it could be the complete opposite and have something like "House Rules' where the Tassie team became one of the most hated reality contestants of the season (or as my room mate called Brooke - 'She with Resting Bitch Face')

These shows are made by TV producers based in Sydney. I don't understand. They've never made crap before...

They're all beyond stupid anyway, so it isn't as though Tassie is missing out on anything even remotely interesting or important. Count yourselves lucky, Miss C.

It looks like there is a campaign beginning to encourage the unemployed to turn up at the offices of LNP politicians looking for work.

More Tony Abbott fanfiction.. on the subject of jobs:

Tony Abbott has told the unemployed that they have “no right” to hold out for their dream job and should take whatever jobs they are able to do. Suddenly thousands of young people stopped masturbating as they sat in their own filth on their mothers’ couches and leapt to their feet, stepping on a pile of stale chips as they did so.
"He’s right! Oh man I’ve been such an idiot thinking NASA was going to come around and award me the role of Super-Astronaut/Space Cowboy for all this masturbating in my own filth I’ve been doing! Shit. I should actually hand out a resume instead of paying my friend in cigarettes to go into Centrelink to pretend to be me so I don’t have to move or deal with queues! Ugh. I’ve been so lazy. Thank you Prime Minister! You’ve solved all my problems! Now I can afford a third of a packet of cigarettes AND that doctor’s co-payment instead of picking one or the other!"
Then they saluted and got a job the very next day and all was well. Tony Abbott beamed with pride as he had singled handedly shamed the nation into no longer being super lazy. He high-fived Joe Hockey and together they flew off into the sky as hard rock music played in the background.
