This would have been a good pre-war episode, but plunked down this late in the series run and then to have a follow-up shoehorned into Ezri's back story in Season 7 didn't endear it to me.

That being said, still a good episode.

I like the emotional themes of the episode but it never quite made sense to me that O'Brien was the one chosen for this assignment.

And I would agree with the assessment that the crime syndicate we see is not believable. Then again our standards for believable crime syndicates on television changed quite a bit when Sopranos came along so maybe it was easier to believe back when it aired.
