Richard Harris. I would have liked to have seen him as Dumbledore all the way through Harry Potter.

Good one. I pictured him as Dumbledore throughout and couldn't quite get used to Gambon in the role, but that's more likely due to the differences in how they were played.

Gambon was good, but Richard Harris was perfect.

No, no, this is for stars you can't believe are no longer with us. Harris was halfway on his way to the next phase during the filming of CoS, as the finished movie amply demonstrates.
