I never saw spoilers on that, thankfully. It was new to me. I'm surprised I never heard about it

Oh good, that makes me feel less concerned now

I would imagine by this point Fury would never leave his underground bunker that no-one in the world knows about and only ever interacts with even his most trusted friends with LMDs.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Fooling his sense would be difficult.

Blasting his brain with radiotelepathic countermeasures that forces him to misunderstand when he is seeing and smelling would be much easier.

Of course even easier than that would have been to have brainwashed hypnotic triggers in Wolverines mind to ignore LMDs and believe that they are real people.

Of course, his senses wouldn't have any brand recognition that would kick in fast enough before he started ignoring the LMDs that he couldn't tell the difference between S.H.I.E.L.D. LMDs, Chinese LMDs or Hydra LMDs, and they would all seem equally like real people and not robots... Unless it wasn't Robots he ignored, but a precise trigger sense to create different degrees of invisibility or camouflage, like X-23 has a trigger scent that creates a melee killing rampage.

They killed Nick Fury in the 90s too and made a fairly big deal of it.

I see no reason we can't have both Nick's.
We have Peter & Miles
We have Tony & Rhodey
We have Steve & Eli Bradley(Patriot of Young Avengers)

Zero reasons to kill white Nick as if both can't exist and serve a unique purpose.

And both Nick Sr. and Nick Jr. can indeed fill unique niches. However, some marketing people will still have their own assumptions about what works inside and outside of comics...

^Nick Sr has been redundant since Secret Warriors. There is a reason he is retired or else he'd be tried for 70 years worth of SHIELD related war crimes.

Given the lack of a deal of it in OS, this strongly suggests that was probably a robot.

Eli is more like Bucky actually.

Considering the Drug addiction, he's more like Speedy.

(He shot up MGH for his super powers in the beginning. Rubber tube tied around his bicep as his needle wavered looking for the last good vein in his forearm. )

So, the "616" version of mainland China decided they wanted an in-house counterpart to SHIELD (which they also still seem to support to a limited extent via the UN) and built something called SPEAR. (Assuming that's the English version of whatever acronym they actually use in Chinese.) Just debuted in Avengers World this week.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

It goes back to Hickman's SHIELD and Secret Warrior Series, which built up the idea that the original founders of SHIELD being the ancient Egyptians creating it to defend the Earth against alien threats like the Brood. SHIELD (later becoming the defense organization) being the organization in the West and lead by people like Leonardo and Newton and the SPEAR being its sister organization in the East (which also helped spawn Strucker's HYDRA).

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I just finished re-reading Secret Warriors. It made a lot sense reading it all at once. It's amazing how this little known series nobody talks about or references ended up being such a huge influence on the Winter Soldier movie!

You make it sound like a county holding 1/5th of the human population inside it's borders is not allowed to now and then speak for humanity or represent humanity...

China is not evil, a little dodgy with human rights, but not outright evil.

Not that you would know this from the look on Captain America's face on the last page of Avengers World.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

A vast overestimation of the chinese military industrial complex imo.

But I guess it wouldn't have been as dramatic if their ship had crashed in midflight and it had turned out because the contractors had embezzled the money on houses, mistresses and alcohol.
