stonehenge chosen earlier

I just read today that inhabitants of England had begun building a structure at Stonehenge as early as 8,000 BC. They found the postholes under the modern parking area.

One of the better documentaries on all of this "new" stuff is NOVA's "Secrets of Stonehenge." Your local library may have the DVD, or you might find it on streaming services like Netflix.

That information isn't actually new, but I just came across it yesterday, so it was new to me.

That must have been Woodhenge, which was preceded by Strawhenge. Both earlier structures were blown down by a big bad wolf.
