Yes, I know, but that was the better part of a year after it aired in America and Canada.
Well, six months...

Season 2 is following about three weeks after the US airings this year.

Did Copper ever get shown in the UK?

It's exclusive to Amazon/Lovefilm so far. Given that it's already been cancelled, I doubt it'll get a UK airing, but I'd expect a DVD release.

Re: Wiped Episode Discoveries

Ian Levine talks about Philip Morris' search and his feelings about it on Facebook. (It's an unlocked note, anyone can read it.)

It's sad. And funny, in a dark humor sort of way.

Meanwhile, it's all rumor and chatter. In other words, same as it ever was.

Hum. Well, in that case...

THE MISSING DOCTOR WHO EPISODES

In 2005 Philip Morris started a thread on the Missing Episodes forum, titled "Ian Levine" in which he suggested searching for Doctor Who in Africa.
He was derided and mocked but I alone stood up for him and arranged to meet him.
I asked Paul Vanezis to get an offical BBC letter asking to whom it may concern to allow Philip Morris access to archives in Africa and anywhere else.
At this point Phil had never met Paul Vanezis.

Phil subsequently discovered all these missing episodes had been distributed by Television Internation Enterprises, so formed a new company with the same name. The same name on all the original paperwork.

As brilliant a move as this indeed seems to have been, it can also be claimed that using the same name as the old original company was specifically created to cause confusion about who should own these prints, and suggest ownership rights that might not necessarily have been quite as obvious.

Yes indeed, it has obviously yielded huge massive results, but what earthly use are these results if he hoards them, locked away for no-one to see or enjoy or benefit from.

I applaud what he did, and the initiative to go out and do it, but I revile what he has done since. They should have all been given back the minute he found them, and by now they would all have been out on DVD.

As I said earlier, speaking as someone who has done much in the past to save missing episodes, whatever good he may have initially done, he is now taking the piss.

If he doesn't like what I am saying here, and if he ever wants to make the rather regrettable move of involving lawyers, then I certainly have a ton of evidence about him and I have never backed down from a good fight. I am reporting here as a journalist, in a journalistic capacity, using my sources to gather facts, and every word I have typed can be legally considered "fair comment".

These business practices need discussing out in the open air, not buried under a cloak of NDAs, secrecy, covert whispers, and clandestine murmurs in dark corners.

He needs to do the right thing and return them all right now, and maybe have some tiny vestige of hope of saving his name from public hatred.

To be brutally honest, I'd rather he had never found any episodes in the first place, than put us all through such misery. I used to be a much happier person and I slept far better at night. I wish I could mentally erase all knowledge of the man's existence. But I can't and it goes on.
And on.
And on.
And on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

Ah, classic Levine. The right combination of unfortunately ironic comments and stuff I hope is a joke but I fear is serious.

I never want this man to change. This has literally been the highlight of my week.

Hm, unusually for Facebook, there's no "leave a comment" box, so I guess I'm banned from his just in case I ever wanted to go there. (The only other FB which has no comment option for me is Red Bull Racing, who banned me for slagging off their spoilering race results before those of us who (at the time) were reliant on BBC highlights had a chance to see the fucking thing.)

Anyway, the usual hot air, who gives a fuck?

I find it kinda sad that a fan like Levine would turn so vitriolic towards another fan about some missing episodes from a 50 year old program. And vice-versa for a fan like Morris who doesn't even pretend to help the situation for the fandom's sake at all.

Levine has a superiority complex that gets highly offended if he's not involved in some way, and really hates being left in the dark. He wasn't told about the nine episodes found last year until a week before they were released, and that's left him bitter and twisted. His beliefs about more episodes being found are based on speculation only. It's getting to the stage where that man will soon need medical help, although I imagine he'd blame Morris for that too...

I thought he knew about them for a while? At least thats what he said...

And really, its difficult to either like or hate Levine. On the one hand, his enthusiasm and genuine, I think, love for the show is clearly there, and has tried as a fan to do his best to keep the show going. On the other hand, though, he seems like a vindictive asshole, a lot of the time, and has a really high opinion of himself, for sure.

Mostly, I think he lacks basic, civil manners. And thus, for every Shada he helps get animated or for every Daleks story he finds, reading some of his posts paint him as the ludicrous villain of Love & Monsters that its been said he was the template of.

He just lacks the ability to understand that someone can disagree with him without being wrong, or an enemy, unfortunately.
Just be glad that it all comes out over missing episodes. If he'd become a politician and somehow got elected... Well, I've joked in the past that if IL gave up on missing episodes and devoted his efforts to ending war and famine, then if he hadn't succeeded in a year, he'd be saying that anyone who'd suggested his campaign wouldn't work was in favour of war and hunger, and had sabotaged it.
