We all know we would not be the hero character in an episode of Star Trek, but hopefully we'd at least get to be Mr. Leslie. The hard-working crewman that may not get the glory, but without him the world would fall apart.
Well said sir!

How often did Hadley (not Bill Blackburn in other roles) get off the bridge?

"...And that's how it came to pass that on the second-to-last day of the job, the starbase crew that rebuilt the saucer damage in the spring of 68 wound up sitting in a row at ten o'clock in the morning drinking icy cold, Bohemia-style beer, courtesy of the hardest screw ever to walk a turn on Starship Enterprise."

Some off the top of my head;

Planetside security detail in Devil in the Dark and The Alternative Factor.

Taken hostage by Khan in the briefing room.

Queued for the transporter in This Side of Paradise.

Chatted to Ambassador Petri in a corridor.

Listened to Lokai's speech in the rec room.

Punched by Larry Marvick while wandering through a corridor.

Shoved by an insane guy at Kirk's memorial service.

So quite a bit.

Speaking of Leslie (and I know I only posted this a few weeks ago but what the heck) I made a video celebrating his greatness;

Eddie has seen it and likes it a lot.

Seeing this thread, I really have to give props to Eddie Paskey. For decades, my wife and I used to joke about Lt Leslie, and his always being there in the background, with his wonderful facial expressions, and coming back from the dead, etc.
When did Leslie die?

In the mass redshirt bloodbath with the cloud creature (''Obsession'') http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessi...riginal_Series)

He got better

IIRC, the thing which makes his death in Obsession so interesting is that Kirk actually refers to him by name as 'Leslie' earlier in the scene, so even if we hypothesize that Eddie Paskey has got a knack of playing multiple non-descript background roles, not all of them necessarily Lieutenant Leslie, then one thing we can say for certain is that that character who dies in that episode is definitely Mister Leslie.

Does he actually get directly identified as Leslie in any of his subsequent appearances?

Kirk calls him by name in The Return of The Archons.

Memory Alpha says that there was a scene in the script where Leslie was to be revived by some miracle drug, but the scene was never filmed.

The Ultimate Computer. Right at the start, Kirk brushes him off : "Not now, Leslie."

So, either the world's greatest redshirt survived (I recall Eddie Paskey once spoke of a cut scene where Bones cures the redshirts in Obsession), or...there were Leslie twins on board

I know how McCoy could have done that:

"Jim, you remember that blood sample I took from Khan when I we found the Botany Bay floating in space last year? I just used it in a transfusion on Mister Leslie, and I'll be darned if it didn't just bring him back from the dead!"

Mr. Leslie is a major badass.

Mr. Leslie could slam the ship's pneumatic sliding doors.

Mr. Leslie terrified Redjac.

When Charlie Evans tried to send Mr. Leslie into the corn field, it was Charlie who vanished.

Mr. Leslie makes Horta's crap silicon nodules.

If you shoot Mr. Leslie, your phaser disintegrates.

That's how badass Mr. Leslie is...
