You'll not get an argument from me, however ... STAR TREK never won an Oscar for Best Actor - supporting, or otherwise - that's for certain. And if anyone ever deserved one, it was Sir Patrick Stewart. No doubts there, huh?

I thought he did well.

So the answer to your question is, no.

If anything, Pine tends to oversell heavy emotional moments.

So no.

So, he's perfect as Shatner's successor?

No. Actually, I think he walked the line between creating his own version of the character while still making him recognizable as a version of Jim Kirk -- and without doing a Shatner impression -- really well.

^ Yes, I twigged to what you were doing. But I wanted to branch out into something a little more interesting than just needling each other with puns for an entire thread.

Pine's performance was okay, it's just the character he is playing who is irritating.

So this is just one more in the still-growing series of threads consisting of setup in title and punchline in opening post?

So, um... closing.

Please refrain from posting any more threads consisting entirely of a setup in the subject line and the punchline in the opening post. If it won't make a topic for discussion, then don't post the thread at all. Perhaps you could post it in a blog instead.
Warning for spamming. Comments to PM. Thread closed.
