^ Oh, good. Yeah, I forgot to mention space, as well. I was hoping someone would include something like that.

Great entries so far, everyone.
Here is another space one. Spiral Galaxy M81

I was about to do space before my current entry. It always fascinates me.

The zebra one is great, though, too. Very striking.

Thanks. I'm sticking with it. The zebra pattern is pretty nature-esq.

Heh... oh, that saying is for North American snakes, Coral snakes elsewhere can have red on black bands.

Yep, Locutus wins the thread yet again. The rest of us are just here for the wine spritzers and canapes.

Re: ENTER! Misc. Avatar Contest - Patterns of Nature

wow! that's a cool topic and just the thing for a biologist. What a splendid surprise for my return to here!
Sorry that I was awol for almost 3 months - real life was a bit demanding lately: tons of deadlines to meet, meetings to attend, samples to take and examine, 4 shipwrecks (why the [insert un-ladylike vocabulary here] can't people read their nautical maps and hire a certified pilot?!), slight health issues & spring cleaning

I'll try to defend my position as best as I can and come up with something really special. The prob is that there are so many to choose from...
