In the past 2 days, I've dropped in about 1,200 fleet marks into the Dilithium tier 2 upgrade. There's only about 1,000 more marks to go to complete the requirements.
Yep, been grinding this one myself. Almost there, hopefully can kick it off by the end of the weekend if we push a little. Then that will turn into the discount to help the embassy T2 project become a tad more affordable...

Re: STO: TrekBBS Armada and House of TrekBBS - Fleet discussion and FA

here is a thought:

There are a few fleets whose members have a really hard time generating fleet credits, while we have projects for them to spare.

If you stumble over some people looking to convert marks to credits, feel free to send them a fleet invite to dump their marks into our projects.
They might just be grateful to get rid of their marks and we make better progress.

Yep, been putting that call out in that NoP Public Service channel pretty much daily. Ran into someone an hour or two ago that just brought us up to almost full on the Embassy T2 project, dropped in about 3k fleet marks!

So just need a hundred more or so, and then we're just down to finishing the DIL requirement to launch that one. Mine upgrade finishes tomorrow, so the extra 5% discount or whatever should show up then and save us a little as well.

I just finished off the last of the fleet marks for Embassy II. We need about 330k Dil. I have been putting in between 50k and 75k Dil a day, so consider that and the discount we are due in about 20 hours, means it should kick off in the next few days.

We are getting into a good mid range fleet now ahead of a lot of smaller ones I think.
T4 with finished smaller holdings till the end of the year maybe?

T4 by the end of the year should be doable. But I would also like to see us get one or two of our other holdings to T3. I just know Cryptic will introduce another holding with Season 9, and if we don't get one or two of our current smaller holdings done by then we'll never get anything finished.

I think we should focus on getting the Dilithium mine, and then the Embassy to Tier 3.

Sounds good, we're definitely making some progress. That order sounds good, as that will max out the discounts on anything else going forward. And then can chip away at the Spire in the interim, as there's good stuff in there.

Although if you use the NoP channel, can get invites to somewhere with a T3 Spire if you need to buy something in the interim. We'll just have to keep a few provisions on hand.

Mine upgrade is finished.
Enjoy the opened exterior where you can do a daily dilithium mining mission.

Can someone add my two characters to the fleet - ElimParra@joel1974 and Jackie Jones@joel1974

Yesterday, I started messing around with crafting, as a way to get rid of some items, and make some credit also. Having an account bank helps, as I can transfer stuff between my two characters.

Crafting is an area that's been ignored by the developers for a while. Before dilithium was required, I used to craft the Aegis sets and sell them on the exchange.

The fastest way to build your crafting score is to stand by the crafting table and volunteer your services.

Re: STO: TrekBBS Armada and House of TrekBBS - Fleet discussion and FA

Yeah, it was an area that was somewhat useful early on, and the Aegis set was the height of it, but they added in DIL requirements that killed it.

Plus they haven't updated the craftable loot table in so long that power drift has made almost everything there useless anyway. Almost nothing there worth the time and effort, and you can get better stuff out of random drops or cheap on the exchange now.

Rocketeer is right, though; if you want to complete the crafting ranks just to do it, stand there and help people craft things. You gotta build up your skills a bit to start, but from there, should be able to get to the end by making the mid-range stuff for new people. Or just look at the exchange, see what's selling well at the moment, and make a few of that item to sell and get your money back. Buy more materials, make some more. Don't make anything that uses DIL (unreplicatable materials), but craft the best selling item right below that level. Usually mid-level ship weapons, and quantum torps.

I'm mainly doing it for my two characters. Plus I read they are planning on making some changes with it soon. For me, it's a way of upgrading some weapons and making some credit. Shall come in handy, when I make my Klingon sometime over the weekend.

Changes? Its more like they want to throw away the current crafting system and create a new one from scratch. So its very likely whatever crafting experience you gain now will amount to very little new crafting experience in the future.

FYI - Fed Embassy II is now running. It should be done next Tuesday.
