Re: KISS Won’t Perform At Their Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

I think the best compromise would be to have the classic lineup inducted while the current lineup performs.

Does being a Hall of Fame actually help bands financially nowadays?

KISS ... el-oh-el.

They should feel honored and delighted since they've never actually done anything besides sell toys.

So now the RRHoF has KISS and still no Moody Blues or Smiths.

I weep.
Don't weep, just realize what a hollow "honor" it has become when so many good artists are arbitrarily "out," and dismiss the Hall for the out-of-touch, self-aggrandizing irrelevancy it has become.

Maybe the RRHOF feels that the Moody Blues are mediocre?

The Moody Blues are a great band. It's also hard to argue that they weren't a significant commercial success and influence, given the caliber of their hit songs. "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon" aren't even necessarily their best songs.

The classic lineup will get inducted no matter what because the band doesn't have to agree to be put in the Hall of Fame. This doesn't really change anything from how it is now.
