Looks like a new Batsuit‎ design.
It is. Infodump from Game Informer:

No multiplayer
3 islands, 5 times the area of Arkham City
Streets wider for the Batmobile, which is an integrated part of the game (like gliding or the grapple)
Buildings generally taller, too
Better hang time, longer glides
Game set one year after Arkham City
Joker's death has shifted the balance of power (he's still dead)
Batman starts with his Arkham City suit but quickly gets into a more armor-plated, higher-ability suit
Gotham has been evacuated and only criminals remain
Kevin Conroy remains as Batman, all the other villains are still voiced by their respective actors
50 dudes on screen at once
Individual raindrops run down Batman's cape and suit
Line launcher can be fired in mid-air to create a line between two buildings and instant perch point
All quickfire gadgets can be used during flight, in fact
Batman now uses weapons that he gets from counters, can beat thugs with a baseball bat until it breaks on their faces
A new throw counter that counters and throws a thug into another thug
Batman can summon the Batmobile and it drives to him remotely
Batmobile shoots EMP missiles that immobilize targets without harming occupants
Batman can eject from the Batmobile at full speed into a glide
"Arkham Knight" is actually the name of Batman's main rival in the game
Riddler challenges now include deadly races
Oracle exists in-game and can be visited
Batman can now chain stealth takedowns together, up to 3 times
No loading screens

Have you guys seen the trailer? That's CGI. I hate when they do that because it tells you almost nothing about the actual game.
It's just a teaser to confirm the existence of the game, which at this point is fine by me!

This is the next gen Batman! I want to see what the actual game will look like. I had very little doubt that Rocksteady was working in a 2014 Batman game afterall. I guess I'll see what Game Infirmer has on it.

And you will get to see that. It's early yet. This is literally the first official announcement of this game; we'll be seeing plenty more before it's released.

Hmmm, looks like a Tumblerized Burtonmobile. I'm curious how the vehicles will integrate, that will be different.

Eh, it doesn't really bother me when a game's first trailer is mostly or all CGI. Its purpose is mostly to confirm the game's existence and start generating buzz. In-game stuff will come later.
If the game visuals weren't 100% ready they'd probably get lambasted for how terrible the game looks. "Next gen? My ass!"

I don't know what people are worried about. The first Arkham City trailer was also 100% CG, did not depict anything from the final game and yet that still managed to be genuinely reflective of the final product.

I was just reading over the game info...

5 times the size of Arkham City?! That's huge!

Is it just me or do the character designs seem more Origins based than Asylum/City based?

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

^Not really sure what you mean. Especially since we haven't seen any gameplay, it's hard to say.

One character I haven't seen mentioned yet is Catwoman. I wonder if she'll make an appearance given her prominence in Arkham City.

I don't see that at all. The new Batsuit definitely takes some inspiration from Origins (it makes the Asylum suit look silly), and the new Batmobile is like a love child made by the Tumbler and a Lamborghini (makes sense to have a new one, since the original one is sitting at the bottom of the ocean as of Asylum), Two-Face and Penguin look the same as they did in City, and Riddler looks a bit more deranged after Batman punched that smug bastard in the face a year ago.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

So far this little nugget is what intrigues me the most:

The characters are incredibly detailed. One has the polygon count of Arkham Aslyum, the whole environment.
I can't wait to see this game in action.

Actually I was going by Gordon looking more like an older version the Origins design than the Asylum/City character design.

"Gotham has been evacuated" is unfortunate.

If you can have 50 people on the screen, why not have 20 of them be civvies taking cover? Or even 5?
