February Art Challenge - DFScott

From the February 2012 art challenge by The Lensman:

...Your challenge for this month is to create a book cover, movie poster, cd cover, tv guide cover, etc, based on a Trek episode, but using a crew from a different series.

A reinterpretation of the cover for the original "Star Trek" ("Star Trek 1") compilation of first-season episodes, as rewritten by the brilliant James Blish. I owned an early edition of this book at one time when I was a young boy, growing up in the '70s, but one day when I was out of town with other relatives, many of my books were sold at a neighbor's garage sale to help pay for my father's bankruptcy proceedings, and I've always lamented its loss. This is in memory of my childhood and the spirit of imagination that saved me from it.

I love this cover! I've got two editions of this...one is an earlier edition where the text isn't over the image, and the image is much larger. So it was a joy to see you redo this cover...extra props for hand drawing it!
