There are actually a few other Fargo clones knocking around now, but yeah you don't often hear about the other lines.

I am not really into the comic or the character but I liked the movie with Stallone. The new movie was way too violent for my tastes.

I've seen the 1990s Stallone movie which.... Well the less said the better. (Though I'm curious now to give it another look.)
I thought the Stallone version was pretty cool, actually. Then again, I've never read the comics.
Stallone version was a great movie.

It was a fun, goofy, sci-fi action movie. What it wasn't was a good Dredd movie.

...though actually the first 15 minutes weren't so bad in that regard.

Re: Judge Dredd 2012 movie.

Some vaguely interesting news. A sequel still doesn't seem likely, but it appears the DVD/Blu-Ray sales and the positive word of mouth haven't gone unnoticed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

At the Destination Star Trek event held in in Frankfurt, Germany (hat tip to WhatCulture), Karl Urban was on hand to field questions for his part in J.J. Abrams’ rebooted science fiction franchise. As testament to just how much of a cult film Dredd has already become, one of the first questions posed to him was not about Trek, but about whether there had been any progress on the notion of a Dredd sequel. Urban stopped short of saying that the odds were better or worse than when he last claimed he’d made his enthusiasm to Lionsgate clear, and would rely on fans to make their desires known as well.

However, Urban did explain that “conversations” were taking place – language he hasn’t used in the past – but the actor’s offhand comments surrounding that update are more telling. For starters, Urban said what we’ve been saying since the film first released: that the studio completely fumbled its marketing and theatrical arrival. Urban went on to say that despite an underwhelming box office take that had seemed to kill any chance of a sequel, the DVD sales have continued to impress – and Lionsgate has taken notice.

I absolutly LOVE the new DREDD movie. What an amazing piece of work! Everything about it (IMO) was amazingly done. Great work. Favorite movie currently
The original 90's Dredd with Stallone wasnt bad, if you consider it was a very well done COMIC BOOK adaptation. Most people miss this part and seem to think its a badly acted movie. Oh well to each their own!

Love em both

As a long time fan of the comics, I have to disagree about it being a good adaptation of the comic. As I said above, about the only thing it got right was the uniform.

Fair enough, like I said, to each their own. I should have expressed myself better, but I meant more along the lines of, it was better viewed as an adaptation as a comic book, then trying to view it as an Oscar winning / Best picture type movie. If that makes any sense, lol.
I'm not the best at describing things like this...
