I'd prefer if they got someone who can actually act!!!
I agree. There are a lot of really good British actors out there, and Constantine could be anywhere from early thirties to late forties so that means that it is open for many people.

I guess I should've put a winky after my Sting suggestion. I was just joking about Sting because the character's appearence was modeled after Sting.

^ Fair enough. But I've seen his name bandied about in seriousness, even though he has the acting skills of a slug and is probably too old now.

I still say Marc Warren is perfect and his profile in the USA ought to be a little higher lately since his stint on The Good Wife.

Bump! Looks like our new Constantine either has been or is about to be cast. He's British this time (Welsh, to be precise). Not blond but at least he's not Keanu.

Not sure if anyone but me still cares but the first pic of Matt Ryan as Constantine has been released. I think he looks perfect - it's like a drawing from the comic come to life. Yeah, I know, don't judge a book by it's cover etc., but this bodes well.

He certainly looks more the part than Keanu did.

Stick a cigarette in his mouth, and that's John Constantine. Gives me some hope. DC is really doing great in the Live Action TV show area right now.

Yep. I'm actually kind of surprised how faithful they are being to his look.

My first instinct is that he is a little young and pretty, but whatever. It isn't illegal to conspire to give an actor a drug and/or alcohol problem in order to subject them to premature aging is it?

That looks pretty close to the age of the New52 Constantine.

Sure, and this is probably about as good as we could hope for, but there is something kind of innocent and pure and sheltered in his eyes(in other roles I've seen him in, whereas those pictures all seem to have his eyes in shadow). In any case, I'll hope for the best.

Constantine will be a sassy American black woman in this version.
I'd definitely watch it.

As mentioned up thread, Constantine's lookwas based on Sting, who wasn't exactly old and ugly back in the mid-80s when JC was created.
