Re: TOS Ships?

Here’s a bit of a drill-down on the shuttlecraft we saw

Galileo (the first one)
Galileo (the second one)
Galileo II
Columbus
Da Vinci (from Starbase 4)
Einstein
Picasso (from Starbase 11)
NCC-K7

Also, we did finally see Cyrano Jones' ship, the Spacematic.

Lastly, it occurs to me that we also see the U.S.S. Intrepid.

I couldn't get a straight answer from whoever was making the claims about it in the recent Spacematic thread, but it is the case that it was seen neither in TOS nor in TOS-R, and that it was seen only in DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations" (and never close up), right?

Lastly, it occurs to me that we also see the U.S.S. Intrepid.
I waffled about mentioning it, but yeah, it is docked and under repair at Starbase 11 during "Court Martial", so it could have been as close as, say, the Astral Queen got, I'd say. Was it seen in TOS-R finally?

Re: TOS Ships?

If that Medusan-ferrying ship is in the foreground, it IS tiny, eh?

Hadn't noticed that.

That's a fairly big introduction on the part of TOS-R, too, by the way, a whole new class of ship added to what we saw in the original versions.

I assume the shuttle names there are mostly from Remastered? In my list I've separated remastered versions where they differ from the original.

What the heck is NCC-K7?

Also, did we actually see the Spacematic? I don't it actually being visible other than maybe as an indistinct light colored spot in the hangar bay in the remastered (maybe) and DS9.

Re: TOS Ships?

I don't believe the Spacematic (or the NCC-K7 shuttlecraft with which it shares the shuttlebay) are actually visible in anything other than some behind-the-scene footage. Even if it is, it's only visible in the DS9 episode, so I guess that's out of the scope of this discussion.

Yes, those shuttlecraft names are from the Remastered/enhanced versions.

Lest we forget: the unmanned Saturn V rocket seen in "Assignment: Earth". Definitely a spacecraft.

Did we really see Mudd's ship in the original "Mudd's Women"? I only recall seeing asteroids and not even an optical effect for Mudd's ship.

Edit: I could've just looked this up on TrekCore. There is a ship, nevermind me!

Re: TOS Ships?

^I wonder if Mudd's ship from Into Darkness counts similarly to the TOS-R and "Trials and Tribble-ations" as an after-the-point addition to TOS? It looks to me like they extrapolated from the original shape, minus the golden (shield?) glow:

(the ID ship is upside down)

and with an NCC-registry of "1631".

In my NCC thread an interesting piece of detail turned up (post # 125) according to which the registry of the Intrepid was originally to become "1707" in ST IV.

Which makes the TOS-R scene in "Court Martial" rather interesting. Does the "1631" really belong to this Intrepid (it's not on the starship status chart because it reads "1831") or another starship, instead?

We do actually see the ship to which Miranda and Kollos are transported in the Remastered/enhanced version.
Ah, thanks. I haven't seen all TOS-R.
Great Picture.

Since when were there lens flares on 1960s Star Trek? Another example of the remastered effects people missing the consistency boat.

There was a big lens flare shot in "Bread and Circuses." And the original fx had a kind of lens flare at the end of "All Our Yesterdays."
