NFL Offseason '14: Wake me up when minicamps start

The Seahawks (and residents of Seattle and its surrounding area) are all probably still hung over after kicking the everloving piss out of the Broncos. Good for them. Now begins our long national nightmare of no football.

Storyline items:

- Is Peyton Manning an elite quarterback? (Yes. He is.)

- Michael Vick and Josh McCown are the headliners of the free-agent class of quarterbacks.

- Who the fuck will Joe Flacco have to throw to next season?

- Will the Seahawks repeat despite their impending salary cap hell?

- Dallas is keeping both Monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli; how many defensive coordinators can one team have?

And others. Discuss among yourselves.

Can new head coach Zimmer revive the dormant franchise that is the Minnesota Vikings? Who the hell knows?

Post NFL Depression Syndrome has kicked in.

It is mitigated somewhat by the absolute faith and belief that the Rams are going to win the Super Bowl next year.

I will be interested to see what we do with that 2nd pick. We don't need a QB (at least not a 1st round QB) or a Defensive End...hopefully there's another RGIII style trade for us out there.

And how will the Vikings- a team built for playing in a dome- fare playing their home games outdoors at TCF stadium? And will the QB carousel continue?

Putting the Vikings' odds of winning the Super Bowl at 75-1 might be a tad low.

Which football team is going to be stupid enough to draft Johnny Football in the first round and watch him flounder and take the team down with him?

Their salary cap is fine for this year. Next year, on the other hand (Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Russell Wilson, Russell Okung), not so much.

We'll see what happens.
For the Vikings, there may be some hiccups at first, but once they get used to it, playing outside should be great for them. Remember that the Seahawks used to play in the Kingdome.

The Seahawks are either right up against or over the cap depending on where the 2014 number comes in, and they have decisions to make on re-signing Tate, Bennett, Hauschka, Baldwin and others. So they don't have a lot of flexibility this year and will have even less next season (Wilson is gonna get paid, holy shit). They're going to need to be very strategic in March.

Wow, that's like the one dog that has ever put me into a Vick-esque puppy-murdering rage. Damn you Nintendo. Damn you for making that contemptible hound mock me behind his shield of light gun invincibility.

Hate to say so, but he just destroyed his NFL career before it started.

Didn't say it'd be easy. Green Bay does fine in the cold.

We'll have to wait and find out, but, imo, the views of even the NFL have changed dramatically (along with the rest of society) in the past 5 years.

If NFL teams can forgive players' criminal misconduct and racism, being gay won't be an obstacle to getting a contract if he's good enough imo.
Some teams might pass because of that but there's too much money at stake for all teams to pass if this guy can help them out.

Yeah, only destroyed his career if some shitty team takes him for PR purposes. Handful of well-run teams that could easily handle the 'distraction' and have enough presence in the locker room to keep that from getting out of control.

He's a top couple of round talent, not like he's coming out as a punter and pulled this. DE/LB and the guy can move!
