Hey, what gives?

I just noticed that the artwork of the characters on the old Mego action figure pack has a strange omission...

Capt. Kirk, Dr. McCoy (Bones), Mr. Spock, Lt. Uhura, and Klingon all have the 'tm' noted. Why doesn't Mr. Scott (Scottie) have one?
Perhaps the name wasn't deemed original or distinctive enough to be a trademark.

Maybe. But on the other hand, if the Captain's name happened to be "Mr. Scott (Scottie)", I'm sure it wouldn't have not included the 'tm'.

But then it would have been "Captain Scott (Scottie)," which would be somewhat more distinctive.

Speaking of which, did you know that Captain Scott of the Antarctic, early in his naval career, served aboard the HMS Vulcan? I didn't, till a minute ago.

Looks like something out of Robot Chicken
Or a Robert Heinlein novel... after the "brain bubble" that is.

Looking closer, I notice that these caricatures have a pretty strong Mort Drucker vibe, like they were clipped from Mad Magazine!
