Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics for Free

Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout tactics for Free:

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/1...tics-for-free/
We don't normally highlight random game sales here on Ars Technica, outside of a few mentions in our weekly DealMaster posts. There are just too many great price reductions happening all the time, and there are plenty of sites that track that kind of thing in much more detail than we could. That said, we couldn't resist telling you about a literally unbeatable deal on some of the best computer RPGs of the '90s (and Fallout: Tactics, too).

Yes, GoG.com is kicking off its annual winter sale by giving away free copies of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. It's not like the games were bank-breaking expenses before—GoG was offering them for $10 each, and they're currently $5 on Steam—but with a price of $0 and no DRM in the GoG offering, there's really no excuse to not revisit these classics (and Fallout Tactics) or try them out for the first time if you've just acquired your first PC last week or something. The free game offer is only available for 48 hours, ending at 1:59PM GMT on Saturday, December 14.
Hurry Hurry.

Sweet! I already own Fallout 1&2 (never played Tactics) but considering all the extra downloadable goodies you get with GoG games, I might as well grab these!

Nice! I already have the games on disc somewhere, but had problems with them that made them unplayable. I'm hoping that these are more compatible. Anyone know of any good high-res patches?

Thanks for the heads up, superdeluxe! I'm a fan of the newer installments, and have always thought I should check out the original games, but had never got around to it... what better incentive than free! Made the "purchase" with less than six hours left. I don't normally come into this forum... it was lucky I saw this posting show up on the main index page!

No Mutants Allowed is the best place to find mods/patches for the early Fallouts.

I should have checked the Gaming forum earlier. The giveaway is over. Oh well.
