Re: what's your local weather?

Today it's about 42F here and very overcast, with on and off rain. There were some local fog patches on my drive in, which is normal considering I'm right on the coast (Connecticut, near the casino area or Mystic, for those who know those areas). I don't care for the rain, but at least it's not snow... yet.

I checked the weather and it's going to be 40s-50-ish here all week, which is nice, after last week's storms. 40 F outside right now.

Hi 51 F/Low 43 F, was very sunny today.
I took these photos this afternoon on the back of my property. I like the way the old chicken coop looks throughout the year, but especially in Autumn.

It has been quite cold recently (around 0°C at sunrise, a bit warmer during the day), but at least it's sunny. I can live with it.

Warm all week--77 to 80 F--but back to the 40s and 50s on the weekend.

Sector-7, your chickens are to be envied! Such a lot of space to dig for worms!
Todays sunrise was particularly colourful. Atm it's a sunny but frosty morning. The snow is all gone, though, as yesterday was rather warm.
Doesn't look December-ish at all. More like early spring.

It's gonna be gloomy, rainy, and chilly (below 40°F is chilly for us, at least) for the rest of the week, and there should be snow in even the lower elevations nearby, so we might go do some sledding, snowman building, and snowball fights at my aunt's house if we get the chance.

*remembers the icy winds down from the Santa Anna mountains* - brrrrrrrrrr!!
wow! < 40 is damned cold for your area!

Btw, isn't this the season where the Humpbacks swim towards Mexico? I vaguely remember that there used to be a whale festival around this time of year.

Right now, the most common whale you'd see off the coast of SoCal is the Gray Whale. Humpbacks stay further out on the way down usually (though you can see them more easily in North and Central California on the Southern journey, but on the return trip North in Summer you can see a lot of them, and they'll come right up and play with the boats, watch the people, and show off their moves. Plus, there are Blue Whales and Fin Whales in the Summer.

cool I've been to Ca only in winter but once when we started from LAX there was a school of whales between LA and Catalina island. Huge ones! You could see them in the clear water. It was awesome! =)

Re: what's your local weather?

We're expecting a really bad storm front for IRL, GB, S, DK NL, D and A.
I hope you're all safe and sound and have a good heating system, and solid dykes at the coast! Here in Bavaria we expect a heavy blizzard for tonight and massive snowfall. Getting to work tomorrow morning might turn out somewhat difficult.

Atm it's a regular pea-souper. Visibility is around 60 yards and falling rapidly. And we have 1/5 inch of snow with a layer of black ice under it. Alltogether far too warm for the season (about -7°C)

Re: what's your local weather?

Cloudy but warm here, supposed to top out at 56F this afternoon. I took the day off so I'm going to snuggle on the couch with some yarn (once I get off the computer) and not go out til my massage appointment at 2:30.

This week in 1999, I recall it being shorts weather. Today is probably the closest we've gotten to a repeat since then.

LOL else the word chillies would take on a completely new meaning

The storm isn't here yet but it has suddenly turned unusually warm -always a bad sign. Major storms push the warm air forward before they strike. Ah well, I have a working central heating, plenty of hot tea, freshly baked cookies and some 10,000 books - that should suffice through any storm
