The Make a Wish foundation went all out in San Francisco last Friday, which impressed no less than Batman himself, Christian Bale. http://entertainment.time.com/2013/11/18/christian-bale-on-batkid-its-so-touching/?hpt=hp_t3 This was epic! Loved the mini costume and the Bat signal!!!!
Yeah, truly amazing. Folks in and around the comics industry had a lot to say. Ben Affleck said "Best Batman ever!" Christian Bale agreed with him. And best of all, the cast of "Arrow" got to take a night off, "thanks to Bat-Kid".
I think you just gave me my new desktop! Ben Affleck found out just how BIG those shoes are, that he's trying to fill! http://www.mercurynews.com/californ...-francisco-police-chief-reflects-wild-success I liked this quote from the above article. San Francisco police Chief Greg Suhr said today, "It was really unbelievable. The best part about it is, although the little guy had to get sick to get better ... there was no catastrophe, nobody had to die for all these people to show up to spectacularly support his victory." This was "nice" too. ...and so many donations poured in to the Make-a-Wish foundation that its website crashed. I also love the last line in this article... http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/11/15/batkid-san-francisco/3588173/ ...that explained how a planned interview with the Batkid at the end of the day was canceled because even Superheroes need a nap.
Here's 2 of the role playing scenarios, with audio track after a silent beginning. [yt] [/yt] And here's the explanation as to why there were TWO Batmobiles. Batkid had his own! [yt] [/yt] And the key to the city was chocolate! "November 15th will be Batkid day FOREVER!" [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scmcOOeJxT8[/yt]
Nice. I also liked this essay at the same website. http://comicbook.com/blog/2013/11/16/how-batkid-really-saved-batman/
I must be really strange... but the idea of a "Hollywood" version of Batkid, even one with the lovely JR is really disappointing to me. Give me REALITY! The poster is from 11/13, not from any new Hollywood production.
I had the same thought. I want to see the documentary. The actual events are too good to be recaptured. They are going to have to cast a young boy to play him. Not going to be easy. Or is it really going to be about the parents and every thing around him.
Well... this "was" wishful thinking 2 years ago... ...but now its "reality. 194000 views in 1 day! Batkid the documentary.
Thread resurrection for a very good reason! Five years later, Bat-Kid is 10 years old and living a cancer-free ,normal life.
A normal life? As normal as one pint sized superhero can lead, I guess. Hurray to Miles Scott in defeating a truly devious super villain!
