Nah, it was Worf.

Riker was only around when it was free donut day.
Riker was fucking useless.

Awwww...

I like Riker. No one can strut into a room chest first, head cocked to the side like him.

Now now, he was the inertial damper calibration dummy.

But riddle me this! If this was true... why is the presence or absence of Riker's beard widely-acknowledged as the measure of the show's quality?

Did Worf save the show with his beard? I think not!!

He saved it with his hair. The longer it got, the better the show got.

It's the same "budget cut" that Superman Vs. Batman is getting - and frankly, if it's good enough for icons like them it's good enough for Star Trek.
Uh... what does this even mean?
That a huge franchise crossover like that needs to take a relocation budget cut in order to remain profitable, it's hardly a big deal that the same is happening to Trek.
I never said it was a big deal, just that it signifies that the movies aren't as "extremely profitable" as some like to claim. The same is obviously true for Superman.

I would like you to know that I have a completely and totally devastating refutation of this point ready to hand.

I'm just choosing not to share it. Right now. Because it's too awesome.

I wish this guys don't return for the third film. No offence, I am not saying they are awful but they don't just work for a franchise like Star Trek. Orci and his friends are male fan writers so it is only logical that their writing in film lacks depth, substance and is filled with too much explosions, twisted sex scenes, unnecessary nudity and all the shallowness there is with little story.

They also care too much about showing off a woman's hotness and using her as a sex object than writing her as a strong formidable woman.

Star Trek films should have a very deep story with a lot of philosophical and intellectual influences. Star Trek has never falling into the mindless summer action flicks that no one will remember again once the summer is over talk less of before the year is over.

Orci and his friends are more suited for the popcorn action flicks with all the cars and the girls like Transformers and Fast and the Furious. They just don't fit Star Trek.

I advice Paramount to get real credible and intelligent science fiction writers like Micko Kaku or Neil deGrasse Tyson to at least write the story for Star Trek and then get an Oscar winning or nominated indie screen writer or a screen writers with a large body of work that has been met with high critical acclaim to write the script for the next film.

I have been so torn with how I feel about Into Darkness but now that the year is almost over, I can now say the film was a missed opportunity and the fault is with story.

I don't except Paramount to listen to many fans. All they care about is making money and the only way to make money is to have explosions explosions and explosions with really hot girls that do nothing.

Its sad especially with Gravity out. Gravity was a beautiful and well in depth sci-fi film that will be remembered for a long time. It is what Star Trek Into Darkness should have been.
I in no way want to demean your opinion, but I encourage you to go on "The Onion" website and look up a satirical article they did after Trek09 came out. Its entitled "Trek fans pan new film as fun, watchable". You'll get a good laugh, and maybe a little insight.

I object. When his hair went to pony-tail, it was on the other side of TNG's high point. The best Worf Hair Years were his Donna Reed hairstyle.

DS9 objects to that. Though it's too bad the pony tail didn't help the TNG films. Guess it can only do so much!

Now I'm picturing Worf in a housewife's dress (knee-length), pearl necklace, apron, and high heels.

TNG was pretty much the Picard, Data and sometimes Worf show. The others got a few scraps tossed their way from time to time.
Especially once we got to the feature films. Did Crusher or Troi do anything notable at all, in any of them?
Troi got drunk and Crusher got a free boob job.

Crusher forgot all 7 years of her having worked on Geordi's VISOR and much of her medical and Starfleet training to allow the bugged VISOR to be the undoing of the entire Enterprise and a portion of her crew.

Troi...did...fuck it I'm not even going to pretend there's something to write here. But then she was useless the entire 7 year run of TNG, basically self propelled set piece.

Picard and Data arsing about was all the 4 TNG films were about, them were mind numbingly boring and pointless.
What's what all of the Next Generation hate? The show still has a lot of fans, and many ladies still love both Crusher and Troi flaws and all.

Are you kidding? Despite that and what else has been said here by everybody else, most people like the OP won't ever listen, but still get madder and madder at being told that. At time like this, and in post like this, I just want to give up convincing them.

Cara007; who should be doing this? Please tell me, and give me, a complete list of people that you think are true to the spirit of Star Trek that can write a great script that can please overcritical fans like you, the general public, AND critics, as well as make Paramount's executives happy financially. I'm just dying to hear.

I love TNG. Don't think its held up to well over time, but still I love it. I tolerate the TNG movies. There's not a one of them that did the TNG cast real justice and Crusher and Troi really go screwed over to the point that they could have been left out all together.

It's not hate, just a fact. Crusher and Troi did little of note in the TNG films and Troi was mostly useless during the series run.
