Why?
Why does all Trek after TOS always pair up the hot babes with the old, balding, or just plain ugly characters?
Male fantasy fulfillment.

It's not limited to Trek shows, but also a number of sitcoms in which a overweight slightly slovenly husband has a pretty hot wife.

People don't freak out at C/7 because of the age difference. They freak out because they either want Chak in Janeway's bed NOW or the want 7 in Janeway's bed NOW and C/7 pisses all over both groups.
They could've hooked the Doctor up with Janeway. That would've screwed over the J/C shippers, the J/7 shippers and the D/7 shippers.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Age difference isn't relevant with the EMH anyway. He is both far older due to his access to multiple world histories and facts and far younger due to his lack of personal experience. All of which can also be said about 7.

I wasn't a C/7 hater. I think the biggest problem with it was we didn't get to see much of the relationship. The foundation was laid during Season 7.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

I wasn't a hater either, as I've said before Chak makes the perfect starter husband. He'll be kind to her and when she moves on he won't cause her any problems.

That should get her nice and ready, primed even, for her torrid Janeway affair.

Just make everyone happy and do a J/C/7 threesome.

I like the EMH/J idea better

Although not a shipper of any sort, I could see J/C, but Janeway was never interested, married to the chair and all that (I don't remember if Mark moved on or what)

I see C/7 as neutral. Kind of unexpected, but knowing Chakotay is a good guy, I don't see the problem even if there's an age difference there.

Why did Seven have to be paired off in the end? Just because she's the "hot babe" and it has to be established that someone end up with the "hot babe"?

The EMH should have stayed with his hologram wife.

What's this hard on that sci-fi nerds have with hitching artificial lifeforms with organic humanoids?

He did. After contact was reestablished with Starfleet, Janeway got a "Dear Kathryn" letter in which he told her he hadn't waited for her, and had gotten married.

The crew was declared missing presumed dead wasn't it?

Or was it?

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

I don't recall. I do remember that Janeway was a bit taken aback at first, then she tried to make the best of it and wish him well.
