Yes, I was talking about Will Decker. Matt got his entire crew killed, which isn't what I'd want in a commanding officer.
All the captains nearly got their crews killed on more than one occasion. I don't think we see enough of Matt Decker to know what kind of commanding officer he was and whether or not he made a poor decision in beaming down the Constellation's crew.

Will Decker would've gotten the Enterprise crew digitized right off the bat by ordering sensor scans on V'ger when they first spot it. So I'm not sure I'd want to follow him either.

Pike, Picard, Sisko and Kira. I'd follow any of them to hell and back.

It looks like Kirk, Picard, and Sisko is taking the lead (as I expected). I did think NuPike would out class his predecessor. TOS' Pike was a bit whiny. I voted for him because he came back by the end of the pilot and sacrificed himself (paralyzed) rescuing those cadets but NuPike seems like he has a more stable head on his shoulders and he has that father figure side to boot.

Definitely Picard is my first choise. Calm and reasonable 90% of time, so it is impossible to fall into panic under his command.
Also, I liked Captain Pike from Abrams' films. Maybe because of an actor.

Would he? As Decker himself said moments after he made the recommendation for screens and shields, it was his job to point out alternatives to the captain. That he suggested an idea to Kirk doesn't mean he'd have done the same thing himself.

Psychologically, there's a significant difference between being the executive officer and being the captain. The first-officer is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the crew, but the captain takes responsibility for the entire ship and its mission. Had Decker been in Kirk's position- and consequently taken the full weight of the mission onto his shoulders- he may have made different choices.

In reality, we don't know for sure what he'd have done because he wasn't in command. What I've seen of Will Decker leaves me with the impression that he was a dedicated officer who cared about his crew. He may have been somewhat abrupt in his questioning of Kirk's decisions, but he was much more familiar with the Enterprise having presided over her refit. His quick thinking prevented a disaster, and had Kirk listened to him in the first place, the Enterprise would never have found itself in that position.

What no Captain J.T. Esteban? I picked Picard, Sisko, Sulu and NuPike.

Archer, Picard, Sisko and nuPike. I'd have to see a little bit more of nuKirk before I could honestly say he had my absolute faith.

I'd follow Kirk in any universe, as long as I'm not wearing a red shirt.

Picard is the first to take the lead. It isn't by much and it could change instantly but it makes sense, the man knows how to weight his options. It's also good to see everyone on the list having at least one person in the Trek BBS that would follow them.

Also nice to see Archer break the one-vote barrier.

I spoke too soon about Picard and is Archer really keeping up with NuKirk?

Edit: Archer surpassed NuKirk.

^We never really got to see him lead as captain, only follow Kirk. We saw him as an ambassador but that was post captain days.
