Maybe Warner Bros. Animation needs to look into some sort of direct distribution for their shows, like first-run Netflix or iTunes or something.

Yeah, that was fairly clear, but, with no side-by-side footage for comparison, like I said, I have no way of knowing whether the original was also that way.
I just watched the original scene care of Netflix streaming, and it's exactly as I said. The animation was the same, but the sound effects were those of machine guns rather than pew-pew cartoon lasers. And there was a shot of the boxing-glove arrow hitting one of the robbers in the face.

Also, several lines of dialogue were cut. When the clerk hits the alarm button and the head gunman is about to shoot at him, one of his men says that won't do them any good, but he says it'll make him feel better. Then they whirl as Green Arrow says something pithy in response to that (I don't remember what) and we get our first look at him.
Ouch. OK, thanks. That is unfortunate, though, given the venue of Saturday morning fare and its history, not at all unexpected.

What really kills me is they only had TWO EPISODES LEFT! Why not just air those two and be done with it! Give us SOME sense of closure!

I'm sure there would have been a cliffhanger with Batman or Katana half alive.

I have found Cartoon Network to be a combination of adventurous artistic creativity and cold commercialism. They'll give many things a chance but if they don't perform they have no problem pulling the plug.

Official statement
Currently, Beware the Batman is no longer on our air. DC Nation will continue on Saturday mornings at 10/9c with new exclusive shorts and a full hour of encore episodes of Teen Titans Go!
There's probably no hope of even airing the remaining episodes either.
After the YJ and GL cancellations I'm glad I never got into this show. But hey, more Teen Titans Go! (ugh)

Re: "Beware the Batman" in 2013! New Animated Series

If I remember correctly, the DC arm of Warner actually has to pay the Cartoon Network to air their shows (similar to how Anime studios have to pay Cartoon Network). It's like a company buying a commercial except that it's a 30 minute block. Cartoon Network is also making money off the additional commercials during the show, but at some point I guess they consider it not with the company's fee.

It would be kind of like how businesses did away with pin ball machines in favor of arcade games - even if the arcade game only made the same amount of money, it took up less space which allowed for another product to be placed and make more revenue. A Cartoon Network original in place of a DC show would make more money for Cartoon Network.

As for why two arms of Warner would not cooperate with each other? Ted Turner designed it that way on purpose. Ted wanted the divisions competing with each other; he thought it would make them better.

I think it's the reverse here. The network pays the studio a license fee to produce the series. The studio can invest their own money to increase the show's budget, making back their investment thru selling the show to foreign networks, dvd, & merchandising. Even if the network and studio are corporate siblings, it's handled the same.

Actually it's has 15 episodes and it's coming back in January.

However, sources have confirmed for The World’s Finest that Beware The Batman is set to return to Cartoon Network come January 2014. The remaining fifteen episodes are slated to be aired within the first half of 2014, though schedule details are subject to last-minute change. Beware The Batman also currently remains in active production. Anthony Ruivivar, the voice of Batman on Beware The Batman, confirmed the January 2014 return date on the social media outlet Twitter.

I'm thinking it will be one season and that's it

Giancarlo Volpe from GL: TAS is working on something for WB. He hasn't said what it is quite yet.

I would be up for that.

I can't complain to much about what they're showing. It's finally giving me a chance to see the episodes of Spectacular Spider-Man I missed the first time around.

Re: "Beware the Batman" in 2013! New Animated Series

^Your post isn't official confirmation either. Do you have an actual source to cite?

Cartoon Network did bring Young Justice and Green Lantern back in January after doing this exact same thing with them. They'd probably lose money if they breached their agreement with WB to air the episodes. Broadcast networks often cancel shows without burning off the episodes, but cable networks usually have to show the entire season of a series sooner or later, even if it's rescheduled. Not to mention that CN invested money in making the episodes in the first place.

Did anyone pick up the Beware the Batman DVD that came out on Tuesday? I just watched the two unaired episodes, Attraction and Fall. Attraction featured the return of Magpie and a disposeable episode. But Fall was really good.
