Re: Kate Mulgrew - Orange is the New black

What "extras" would you like on the dvd set?

http://popwatch.ew.com/2013/10/18/ne...f-cards-oitnb/

I'd love just listening to a podcast or 2 with the golden girls; Kate Mulgrew, Michele Hurst (Miss Claudette) & Constance Shulman (Yoga Jones).

Now its up to 10!

10! being the number of reasons why you should watch OitNB.

http://socialitelife.com/photos/10-r...-the-new-black

Of course #5 is my favorite reason.

ETA: I am so confused.

(Google just posted this 15 min ago)

http://www.goldderby.com/news/4926/o...192035486.html

I thought OitNB wasn't eligible for awards this season.

I'm not sure how I feel about the comedy designation, especially given the final scene of the season.

I may not know how I feel about OitNB being judged in the same category as TBBT, but I do know one thing.

I am looking forward to Amy possibly throwing pie at Tina next year.

Re: Kate Mulgrew - Orange is the New black

Did you invest in netflix this year?

Netflix Banks On 'House Of Cards' And 'Orange Is The New Black' To Quadruple Its Profits

http://www.forbes.com/sites/afonteve...adruple-in-q3/

ETA: http://www.cnbc.com/id/101129388

Netflix, the biggest gainer in the S&P 500 in 2013, reported its net income more than quadrupled to $31.8 million, or 52 cents a share, in the third quarter...

During the quarter, Netflix released critically acclaimed prison drama "Orange is the New Black," part of its investment in exclusive original programming to keep and attract customers to its $8-a-month movie and TV streaming service.

OitNB has MINIONS!

http://candacestone.tumblr.com/post/...-black-minions

Intermittent fasting? Sounds like my usual day... "No time for lunch".

http://www.grubstreet.com/2013/10/or...facebook_nymag

ETA: http://www.hispanicbusiness.com/2013...ve_minutes.htm

From Hispanic Business, by way of Totallykate.com, an interview with Karen Gillan on her new role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy.

DID YOU HAVE TO DO A LOT OF RESEARCH FOR THE ROLE?

I knew a bit more about Sci Fi stuff, because I've seen a lot of those films. I never ever considered myself a Sci Fi geek but the more I talk about it with people I've worked with, I think I am!

My mum watched Star Trek a lot and I watched it growing up so I know a lot about it. I worked with Kate Mulgrew recently, she played Captain Kathryn Janeway, the only female captain on Voyager, and I was so star struck - that was when I realised I am actually a nerd.

I went to the dubbing of one of the Star Trek films - I went to listen to the music being recorded by the orchestra, it was the coolest thing ever. Okay, yes, I'm definitely a nerd!

ETA: This is Red's answer to Matt's "intermittent fasting" idea.

An August interview with Taylor...

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/video...cess/219615851

... it doesn't sound like she has much of an opinion on her own dancing.

ETA: They may THINK these are 5 things we don't know about Kate Mulgrew...

http://www.wetpaint.com/orange-is-th...kate-mulgrew-5

But I bet even KATE will be surprised to find out she's orignially from OHIO!

(Dude, its Iowa!)

Re: Kate Mulgrew - Orange is the New black

Tired of ETA... and this comment deserves its own post.

http://techcrunch.com/2013/10/21/net...-most-watched/

Earlier comments from Netflix suggested that its show “Orange Is The New Black” was a hit — specifically, the company said in July that each of its original shows had a better first week than the one before it. It expanded on that point in today’s earnings report and letter to investors:
Orange is the New Black has been a tremendous success for us. It will end the year as our most watched original series ever and, as with each of our other previously launched originals, enjoys an audience comparable with successful shows on cable and broadcast TV.

That's great!! Hopefully that means many, many, many more seasons with our beloved russian.

I would gladly pay $8 for netflix. Only the ******* are asking me for double that. It's winter now and about -10 000 degrees and it's made me bitter, sorry. I need some saucy gifs to warm me up. I'll be back when I've defrosted.

Winter already?

Well it's supposed to be spring here and I'm wearing an anorak. Meanwhile an hour flight north and it's all burning to the ground.

SAUCY GIFS!!!

Man I saw some photographs today.. they were very artistic.

I want to see Kate Mulgrew as Red draped in these little stories.. I want to see MORE MORE MORE Kate. And by draped I mean..

We need to hand Kate Mulgrew over to someone like Andrew Eccles and say.. do with this goddess what you will.

Yes I have apparently, without my consent, moved to antarctica. Bummer, but at least you have summer to look forward to. I might emigrate to Australia... or anywhere that has a beach.

Whew... yes those are certainly...eh.. artistic.

I wish I had some photoshop skills. I would do nothing else but put Kate in some interesting positions. Or some photographic skills, although I doubt she would allow me to do... that.

Yup, warmer now.

Teacake & Delann, don't watch.

Piper & Alex, Time after Time. yes, it includes that famous "shower scene, but only the last second and everything "important" is quite obscured.

It has been a long time since I posted, so hope this link to Kate on the People website works:

http://www.people.com/people/videos/0,,20748189,00.html

FYI, there is one Golden Globe category for supporting actress in drama, comedy, musical or mini-series, which covers a lot of ground and a lot of actresses, but it would be great to see Kate in this category!

LOVED that video!

Thanks for finding it.

Gosh... how many of the ladies from OitNB could be put up for supporting actress???

Will they cancel each other out and let some "lesser soul" win the day????
