They actually don't come with the futuristic red paint on the ends of the handles; those have to be added yourself.
Let the arguing begin over the proper shade of red paint needed.

That is a film stock issue that varies from season to season. I have an interview with Matt Jeffries on this, but can't find it.

Has anyone ID's the manufacturer from the logo? I found 13 pieces at the Goodwill for 29 cents each, but even Replacements.com could ID who made this flatware. The last post was February 2009; has the trail run cold? Or have I missed a grand discovery?
No new information that I've run across.
This might be mildly amusing, though.

I remember that interview. It was the same one where Jefferies was complaining the Enterprise's color never looked right on TV. It was supposed to be the same medium blue with pink windows like the cover of TMOST.

I did not know that about the Enterprise' colour ... I always thought it was supposed to be slate grey, actually.

That's right. I see it as a very light gray that looks almost white when the lighting is good.

I can't believe Jeffries thought it should be blue when he knew they had to shoot the model in front of a blue screen.

I should have put after my post instead of . I was cracking wise with the medium blue with pink windows from TMOST thing. The studio model was pale gray with a hint of green, according to Richard Datin.
