Why dont you actually watch STiD before you call it pigshit?
The script was clearly a mess of several drafts, and was a loosely connected bunch of set-pieces. Wrath of Khan was a lot more coherent in its themes, especially the stuff about getting old which was genuinely moving and interesting. Uhura acting bratty to Spock about being a bad boyfriend.. wasn't.
ya guys. the themes are like.. SPOT ON. so we can just ignore all the other numerous problems.

But if that's taken away from her, all she'll have to do is sit there and say "hailing frequencies open", which she would still do terribly.
the only thing this lady is good at is bashing Uhura. she MUST be a racist.

The one accusing Bry of racism might be a good place to start...

TWOK.
I think ID would have been better if Khan had given a situation similar to Space Seed at the end, complete with a bit of character pathos. Instead we got the Classic Wackadoodle Badguy trope again.

Yeah a double insult whammy! I get accused of being racist and mistaken for a woman. I'm gay too, fancy bashing that?

The real/proper Uhura is my favourite character from TOS, even though her development was none-existent. I don't know why I took to her, there was just something about her I loved. The reason I dislike NuUhura, is that she is the polar opposite of everything I loved about the original. What they've given her is made her a whiny girlfriend, nothing exactly inspired, whilst Zoe Saldana is just bad casting.

I think Khan settles this question once and for all.

With fans like these, does JJ Abrams even need detractors?

although I completely disagree, I do want to make clear it was just a joke. and no, I would never bash you or anyone for being a homosexual. i completely support equality. and sorry for mistaking you for a woman. haha.
