It doesn't fit their new vision for the channel, going forward they will only show Doctor Who, Top Gear, Star Trek TNG and Gordon Ramsay shows.
I thought that was the old vision.
Have you actually checked their schedule? Maybe I should have said current vision rather than new...
More than that, I watch the channel. Yeah, I marathon TNG some nights via BBCA.

So glad I didn't start watching this. I already got burned once when they cancelled The Hour.
Was that a BBCA show? I thought it was a BBC1. I like te first minishow season.
BBC Two. Abi Morgan is currently writing a new BBC One drama.

In the early days they had a lot of interesting but not prime material, and now they have prime material but you can't see topless ironing in the afternoon on Shameless like the old days.

Still, they showed Luther and Broadchurch, so Copper vaguely fits into that day (more Luther than Broadchurch). The ratings after the season premier weren't that good, though, which is the better explanation for its cancellation than not fitting a specific vision.

I believe BBCA came on as a production partner for Season 2.

I, for one, am glad the show is cancelled. It was, for the most part, historically inaccurate, as well as, in my opinion, ridiculous. It started out a decent crime show, but turned into a soap opera with bits of action.

I didn't think its historically inaccuracies were all that bad given that it's a pop historical fiction piece. They did a good job getting the flavor of the period and even inspired me to look up things on more than one occasion to learn more about it. The Irish immigrant dynamic was quite good, imo.

What particularly bothered you?
