The filming schedule was designed to produce a 60 minute story so they're stretching the footage to get to 75 minutes.
Maybe there will be a 15-minute flashback montage of key moments from the series' history...
Sorry, but I'd rather they didn't over-indulge in flashbacks via archive footage again; we only just had that in The Name of the Doctor. A much better idea would be to let some of the surviving old cast do something new with the current cast.

I wasn't too far off the mark then:

I wonder if they'll show it before or after Atlantis, when it airs? I would have thought it an obvious show to attach it to.

Indeed. That fact that they're hyping these shows what a bad state things are in.

I hope no one reminds Ben Stephenson of when he claimed DW's 50th Anniversary coverage would be on a par with what the BBC did for the Olympics...

I got a bad feeling about this anniversary. I thought anniversary year might have felt at least as special as the year it returned from limbo, instead I can't help shake the feeling that the fireworks were stored in the damp cellar all year, but no one wants to tell us.

The REALLY funny bit is here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho...d-Other-Things

"We’ll have them right here on the Official Site so you can watch for weeks after they air!"

How many times can you watch this before the excitement wears off?

Wow, that's ten seconds of my life I won't get back. Five seconds to load, five sends for the nothing that that was.

Re: 50th Is "The Day Of The Doctor" (And Is 75 Minutes)

Two months out, and still no trailer. Just logos with the TARDIS sound? Seriously BBC?

Maybe something will air after Atlantis, a REAL teaser.

If not, it pisses me off more that those two cons got trailers that no one else got to see.

They better start REALLY promoting this in the next couple of weeks.

Just read the blog post where they hype up a never-before-seen-trailer created specifically for The Day of the Doctor. Um...aren't all official trailers created specifically for the films in question? And it's still in post production? Seriously? How long does it take to put together a 3 minute trailer with footage you've had for months?

This new trailer better have stuff they recently re-shot and kept secret, like classic cameos and stuff. That's the only reason I can think of for this ridiculous delay after the con trailers this summer.
