The guys who did "Firefly"?
Whedon's pretty tied up with Avengers at the moment, and I think he's got a pretty full schedule lined up when he leaves Avengers.

Whedon would be cool for Star Trek, but not the coolest. I really like what they've done with Doctor Who and Torchwood. I like that nobody's safe. It would be cool if they recruited from across the pond. I mean, it would be awesome if The Doctor showed up and fought Q or something, too, but let's be realistic. I'd settle for a director or a writer or two.

Clint Eastwood. Not known for fantasy/sci'fi, but I'm impressed by the majority of his pictures. Tight with great characters.

I'm not suggesting he act in Star Trek, but to produce and direct (and maybe write).

I wonder if Clint is tired of that.

It'd be funny if Clint Eastwood, as, say, a Klingon, asked Garak that same question... "do ya? Punk?" ...especially if Garak made a mystic comment about deja vu...

If you've ever seen Torchwood, you'd know that Davies would be pretty awesome at the helm, although I'd pray to God they give it to Ronald D. Moore.
You sure about that? Considering what he did to BSG, I don't think to many fans would be happy with what he'd do to Trek. Besides, we did dark and gritty: we had DS9.
Wholeheartedly agreed. If there is one person who should NEVER get within five thousand miles of Star Trek again, it's Ron Moore.

I like his DS9 episodes, but, yea, we certainly don't want him going NuBSG Dreary with Trek

I'd like to see a collaboration between Ira Steven Behr and Nicholas Meyer.

Edit: + Robert Hewitt Wolfe.

Works for me, although Meyer's insistence on Starfleet's military aspects were a little off-putting.

To each one's own I suppose. I liked the military aspects. Those guys are all really creative and passionate about what they do, which I love. You can tell in their interviews, at events, or when you hear the cast or crew talking about them. I love to read and hear about those behind-the-scenes stories! Now just imagine Behr and Meyer working together! It would either be incredible or a major clash. But the bottom line for me (and this is subjective, of course), Star Trek was really awesome whenever those guys had the pen or took charge.

On a somewhat related note, I think we should add a purple Van Dyke to this emoticon and call it :behr: LOL!
