Which is exactly what general audiences would say...

Exactly. If Trek fans don't care about Random Cat Aliens, how will everybody else know?

It's so cute how you guys don't think Khan is coming back.

I'd rather see something original than a rehash of a villain that's been done to death in TNG and Voyager.
The Borg were fine on TNG, it was VOY that overused them to death by having them appear multiple times per season.

FC screwed up the Borg before VOY touched them.

He probably is. Doing something else would require taking a chance and the pale white Khan is firmly rooted in the safe zone.

Yeah. How dare they continue with a character and actor performance that general audiences actually enjoyed?

Yes, how dare a reboot take familiar characters and concepts and do something different with them. It's not like other franchise reboots have ever done that, oh wait, THEY ALL HAVE. The Borg are my favorite ST alien race. I'd love to see how they'd look with today's technology/effects. Also, it would be something new since TOS crew has never encountered the Borg before. We know that Kirk would handle them much differently than Picard or Janeaway did.

Please no. I'd rather see Klingons, Gorn or something else from TOS. Leave the next generation stuff for when the timeline moves forward or for another series.

But why should the Borg be considered strictly "next generation stuff" if it's all one big happy continuity? There are defensible reasons why the Borg could easily appear sooner in the new timeline.

Re: Should the Borg be the villain in Trek 3?

Especially since they WEREN'T in TNG. They were in Voyager and Enterprise as well I believe, I didn't watch much of that show. Also, people are complaining about there being nothing new, then are saying that the Borg should be the same as they always were, that's odd. Kirk and TOS crew encountering the Borg WOULD be something NEW.

The Borg were introduced in TNG, figuring in several episodes, a feature film, and (briefly) in the DS9 pilot episode - all this well before Voyager had aired.
