enjoy.

And yes, I noticed the time compression with the uniforms as well.

I hope this is better than Cinema Sins' take on the last one. At least that promised "Everything" in five minutes or less and clocked in at 5:35.

At over eight minutes, though, I'm not optimistic.

Edit:

No, it's the same stupid smarmy shit. Pass.

Credit where credit is due: at least they don't take themselves too seriously.

Let's be clear.. the videos are longer than the time they dictate, but they do countdown when the start end the series of flaws. Also note that the subscribe scene always takes up quite a few of the extra seconds, and most of their new videos (including this one) insert a few extra gags and pop culture references that kind of fit the movie they are talking about.

Relax!!

I wasn't really concerned about the apparent discrepancy between the advertised time and the actual runtime - that was no more than a feeble joke. I simply don't find what they do during that time to be very entertaining. (To be fair, I tend to have the same trouble with a lot of internet video humor-type product, so maybe all you kids just need to get off my lawn. ) Based on the sample I did watch, however, I don't expect their making the new one significantly longer will have the effect of increasing the entertainment value for me.

If it's still entertaining for you, then that's great. Enjoy!

I've seen most of the EWWs, and it seems to me this may be their least jokey list of Sins to date; nearly every criticism is both legit and fair. I loved it.

It's funny how they always get the timing wrong. 3 seconds, 3 minutes. I know, a lot of movies do that and it's because they shot the scene and then the length is finally decided in the editing room. But shouldn't they kinda know about the length of their scenes because of the work they did in pre-production? Surely the arrival of the Vengeance and the space jump sequence where already pre-planned with storyboards and pre-viz sequences?

From a scriptwriting POV, what purpose does an exact statement like "3 seconds" have? Couldn't they replace it with "any moment"? Same thing with statements like "shields down to 15%" in TNG, DS9 and VOY. I never got why they gave us these numbers. "Shields can't take another hit" gives actually more information.

I never did like these videos, and always feel uncomfortable when people share them with me. I just don't really understand I guess, were they suppose to be funny?

Anyhow I'm glad that people enjoy them. I haven't watched this one but a lot of so-called faults in other movies are almost immediately explainable and the rest explainable with some deliberation. That is, unless it's a really horrid movie.

So Kirk went back to the academy. So, what if Pike never figured out what bar he hiding out in to tell him that he had been given the first officer position, what would Pike have done and it was necessary that his first officer needed to show up at the Daystrum meeting?

EWW did bring up one thing I never considered. Spock performing that mind meld on Pike. I mean poor Pike, the man is dying and the last thing he experiences is Spock invading his mind.

Unless at the same time Spock was experiencing Pike's fear, it somehow put Pike at ease.

It still doesn't justify what Spock does, EWW got it right about Spock violating Pike's mind. Giving the intimacy of mind melds, Spock could only have done it if Pike gave permission. But Pike did not give permission or perhaps was incapable of giving permission giving his injuries.

And as for Pike, that guy was probably thinking about all kinds of personal stuff in his final moments plus Spock undoubtedly saw Pike's memories. I'm certain there are Vulcan laws and codes of conduct about mind melds, in any case it was very inappropriate of Spock to mind meld with Pike.

Meh, Spock Prime is a repeat offender then for this sort of thing: Kirk, McCoy, Valeris. All three were melded with without consent.

In short: another case of "Oh, Spock Prime had to do it to <inset plot contrivance>". "Nu Spock broke Vulcan law (which we really don't know if he did or didn't, but but...uh fuck Abrams!"

Let's ignore this 'plot inconsistency- let's blame JJ Abrams' thing.

In each and every case of Prime Spock performing mind melds it was either to save the day, find important information or help his friends overcome mental afflictions (I'm thinking of The Return of the Archons). He had a task to perform and he may have broken his race's code of conduct for mind melds, I don't know, but it served a function.

In fact I think the only questionable use of Prime Spock mind melding was transfering his katra to McCoy. That's more than wacky, that's messed up- moving your soul to a host! However McCoy was a friend of Spock's so that somewhat mitigates it.

Nu Spock had no valid reason for mind melding with Pike, save for vain curiosity.
