G.I. Joe: Retaliation question

Sorry I tried to use the search feature but its worthless and never works.

Why was Channing Tatum written out of this movie?
I just watched the movie and honestly it sucked. All action for sake of action and that's it.
No drama or really a good story line. Plus why was Christopher Eccleston not in this sequel?

They took everything that was good in the first movie and just made it the ROCK movie.

With a promising career outside of G.I. Joe, I think he wanted out.

I think he wanted out too. From interviews I've read, he didn't seem to like the first movie.

Channing Tatum's career is taking off. Eccles doesn't do sequels.

Yeah Eccles don't like looking back, aka Doctor Who.

Really a shame though.

Thanks for the link, I have no idea why the search function doesn't work for me.
