For me, it's 2, 4, 8, 11 and 12. First Contract will remain my favourite.

Just over 3/4 of the way to 100 votes and the current standings are...

1. Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
2. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
3. Star Trek: First Contact
4. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
5. Star Trek
6. Star Trek Into Darkness
7. Star Trek: The Motion Picture
8. Star Trek III: Search for Spock
9. Galaxy Quest
10. Star Trek: Generations
11. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
12. Star Trek Nemesis
13. Star Trek: Insurrection

Fascinating
Wow! Surprised that ST09 is as low as 5, and FC is 3, given what posters are saying about these films in other forums. Also, I can't help but notice that 1-4 are even numbered movies, lending credence to the perception that those films are better than their odd numbered counterparts.

Re: TrekBBS movie ranking thread!

My favorites, in no particular order except for Khan being at the top, are:
  1. The Wrath of Khan
  2. The Search for Spock
  3. The Voyage Home
  4. The Undiscovered Country
  5. First Contact
  6. Star Trek
  7. Star Trek Into Darkness

I'm surprised people like The Undiscovered Country as much as they do. I always felt that movie was a bit underrated.

Same here. The Undiscovered Country is actually tied with The Wrath of Khan for my #1. It was the perfect send off for the original crew.

Wow, look at that...even numbers are taking a sizable lead through First Contact. People really do love the even films more than the odd films. At least those who participated here do. Very interesting.

Except the cliche has never been "Trek fans generally like the even films better than the odd ones;" it's always been "Odd Trek movies suck."

One of those sayings is a statistical hypothesis. The other is a fallacy.

Re: TrekBBS movie ranking thread!

The Undiscovered Country is probably my most favorite myself. As much as I love many of them, I feel like the 6th movie is more timeless, and will age much better then others in time.

Also love the themes and plot of the movie, change is always hard, for everyone. The dynamic of the crew has always been great, but in this one I feel it's at it's peak.

I do believe if all the Trekkers in the world convened and voted, without a doubt "Wrath of Khan" would come out on top.

2 3 6 '09 and STID for me. I also voted GQ for fun.

I'm in the minority by saying that Star Trek III is my favorite Trek film.

I am actually burned out on that one. Maybe I have seen it too many times? I don't know. I actually enjoy Star Trek III and IV much more these days. IV was always my favorite.
