The Cage.
I always wondered if The Cage should be counted as part of any season, because it really is different from the production run?

Since it has a longer run-time, perhaps we should count it as the first Star Trek movie!

But I will go with "The Devil in the Dark"

It's what Trek is all about. We have an evil killing monster at the beginning,
At the end we have an intelligent friend.
Great call

Re: Best Season One Episode

So many great episodes in season one, I voted for The City on the Edge of Forever, but it was a tough decision.

Just two short years after the greatness that was season one, we would get The Way to Eden, And The Children Shall Lead, and That Which Survives.

Rough decision, but I went with "The Devil in the Dark" as well.

Some people consider it to be the last first-run TOS episode that ever aired (1988).
