I think it would have been cool if Barbara Bain, Martin Landau and/or Greg Morris could have guest starred on TOS particularly given they were filming Mission: Impossible right next door.
All of these pics are great, I wish I had the talent to do some of these myself.

My Desilu crossover fantasy has always been to see the Hogan's Heroes actors in TOS. Imagine Bob Crane as a wisecracking starship captain that always got on Kirk's nerves, Robert Clary and Richard Dawson at navigation and helm, or John Banner as a transporter chief, complete with Schultz accent and mustache. Or Werner Klemperer as a Klingon...

Yikes! John Banner in velour (trying to suppress the shudder going up my spine...)!

How's this shtick:

Spock: "Where is the captain? Didn't you beam him aboard?"
Schultz: "I saw notthiiing, noottthingg!"

But Klink and Kirk... I can hear it now...

"Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, disssssssssss- mmmmmmmmmmmmmiiiiiissssssssssssssssssssssssssed!"

I appreciate the connection though.. it brought a smile (and a shudder!).

Honor Blackman... all her appearances as Cathy Gale on The Avengers were black & white I think... but she's full color as the goddess Hera in Jason and the Argonauts. Or maybe you have your eye on Pussy Galore.

If the film uniforms had been closer to TOS.

IF TNG's uniforms had been more like TOS.

Adding a little colour to TMP.

A kind of transposition has taken place.

Data wasn't the science officer. He'd be in a gold shirt in that scenario.

Well, he really was for all practical purposes and I'm pretty sure the original intent was that he was the science officer. But the makeup they chose didn't film well with the blue uniform.

Anyway, why gold? If his division was the same as in TNG, he'd be in a red shirt back in the TOS era.

Wardrobe/skin-tone clashes aside, he was very clearly NOT a science officer. Second Officer, yes. Operations officer, yes. Even though most of the scripts had him as the chief explainer, which was Spock's old job.

According to Memory Alpha, Data was also a science officer.

Good for Memory Alpha. It isn't supported by on-screen evidence, though.

The basis might be that he was frequently shown using bridge science stations which were not manned by officers from the science division, or anyone else.

Perhaps. Still doesn't make him a sciences officer, though. We saw Worf occasionally man those stations, and he definitely was not a science officer.

Well, it's an imaginary scene never to be actually filmed so what difference does it make? Speaking for myself I always saw Data as the "science officer" because he was used that way so often despite his official title.

That's Barbara Bain? OOHHHHMYYY!! And here I always thought she was unattractive in Space 1999.

Obviously, Warped9 used an image of Bain as she appeared in the mid 1960s, some 8 or 9 years before her appearance in the Gerry Anderson series. Logically, she'd look younger.

Sincerely,

Bill
