Don't let them fool you, CBS has absolutely no case here. They need to deal with Youtube and the guy who uploaded the vids. Not with people linking to it.
The guy who alerted me is the webmaster of another significant Trek site with personal experience in this area. I don't take his advice lightly.

He's right. People who link have no liability. The only thing that will happen is that CBS will ask Youtube to remove the material and that will be it. If anything happens after that (a C&D), it will be a friendly and be directed towards the person who originally uploaded the material.

Torrents are one thing. Youtube is another.

I only watched a little bit of The Wounded, I enjoyed the small extended sequences. They were interesting because as much as I love that show, there are some jarring cuts.

Indeed.

No case whatsoever with linking to a YT video.

All bark.

I wonder why TrekCore didn't report the appearance of the extended cut of "Sins Of The Father". It has been on YouTube for weeks now without anyone taking notice!

It's not listed in Cyril Paciullo's playlist, so he may be waiting to release it officially. (In conjunction with a Trekcore article possibly?)

We realize that they are only links to content posted elsewhere but CBS has been known to be fairly brutal in cases such as this including both the individual poster and the website.
Well, thanks for the info, but since the board doesnt allow me to edit the post anymore, I have to wait and see...

I think the general Admin consensus is that we're all OK. If CBS has any problem, it is with the person posting the stuff on YouTube.

I found a channel on YT featuring full rough cuts of TNG episodes, digitized from VHS tapes.
Would you mind telling me what channel that is? It can't be Patchou's channel, because it doesn't list Sins Of The Father. Did any more of those cuts pop up over the last few weeks?

I've been following this closely and I haven't heard of the sins of the father release either. Does anyone have a link? It's not on the regular website: http://www.patchou.com/trek
