I kind of like the cover, if only for the increased possibility we'll get a fancy new shot of the Aventine on one of the other book covers or the Titan on James Swallow's novel!
Or an old shot on a different garishly coloured background ?
Well, I'm still hopeful for a new one based on the new model that Tobias Richter has recently revealed.

(Thanks to 8 of 5's Trek Collective)
He managed to make the the Titan look good! Can't wait to see one of those on a cover

Will it be noticed as a "new book" on a shelf in the shop? Oh yes indeed! I like it!

Really looking forward to this.Una really gets the paranoia and intrigue that lies in every Cardassian heart.
I've always been disappointed that post-war Cardassia hasn't been used as a backdrop more(treklits own West Berlin).

I can't wait to start reading A Choice of Futures, but the image of a bored Archer isn't very interesting.
Don't let the cover deter you. It's a fantastic book
Oh I wouldn't let anything like that stop me. And I'm a couple dozen pages into the book and I'm already loving it more than any Trek book I've read in a year.

I quite like it. The covers have been a lot of faces for a while now, so a cycle of books with ships and stations will be a nice change.

I'm glad DS9 is center stage again. Can't wait to see the final two covers.

I definitely like that cover a lot better! It has a very nice composition to it. I don't mind if the covers are of ships or planets- I just prefer for there to be something visually interesting going on.

Crimson Shadow really doesn't tell you much about what's going on, its just a ship floating on a red background.

I love this cover. Definitely a lot more interesting than The Crimson Shadow.

I assume a phaser, which also appeared blue on the cover of the last Romulan War book (and have quite a history in Trek lit of being described by the wrong colours, and it seems now that the covers are keeping that proud tradition!)

Weren't the ships phasers occasionally blue in TOS?

Yep (along with red and yellow), but not in ENT, TNG or DS9, which consistently made them orange.

I suspect there are RGB sliders on the tactical console
