I noticed Beth was only in one those scenes, I wonder if the "in cold blood" part is the same as what happens in the comics.
Oh fuck, I hope not.
Could be editing to lead audiences into making assumptions--expecting a shock, only to have something else occur.

Is there a video of the trailer somewhere that can be seen outside of the USA?

this is the link that i followed from earlier in the thread, there's some text at the top of the video that says that it's for non -us people. Works fine from the uk anyway.

Re: The Walking Dead

Walking Dead to get baby zombie. This will be crazy:

NBC

Forget walkers. AMC's zombie drama "The Walking Dead" is bringing a crawler to the hit show when it returns this fall.
Star Danai Gurira, who plays survivor Michonne, told TVGuide.com that "there's a little hint of that (baby) in the premiere."
Robert Kirkman, the show's executive producer and author of the graphic novels the drama is based on, also confirmed the news to TV Guide. "It'll be something different from the baby who was seen in 'Dawn of the Dead' remark, which was horrific and done so well," he said. "There's still room for us to do something different and cool."
Sound crazy? Perhaps. But showrunner Scott Gimple did tease at Comic-Con earlier this month that season four is "going to get insane very quickly." And the man would know: He wrote the first episode.

Yea the show is insane already. How they do this will be interesting.

Speaking of zombies - math professors are now using the zombie plague as a way to stimulate students to solve math equations:

NBC

This equation could spell your doom: (bN)(S/N)Z = bSZ. That is, if you ever found yourself in the midst of a zombie pandemic.
That's because the calculation describes the rate of zombie transmission, from one walking dead individual to many, according to its creators, Robert J. Smith?, a mathematics professor at the University of Ottawa who spells his name with a "?" at the end, and his students. Smith's work has inspired other researchers to create zombie mathematical models, which will be published with Smith's work in the upcoming book, "Mathematical Modeling of Zombies" (University of Ottawa Press, 2014).
Though of course done tongue-in-cheek, Smith's study demonstrates why zombies are the viruses of the monster world. Their likeness to viruses makes the creatures ideal subjects for theoretical epidemiological analyses, which can be used to capture the public's imagination as well as explore scientific principles, Smith said. [Zombie Facts: Real and Imagined (Infographic)]

As for a zombie apocalypse, Smith's model shows that a zombie infection would spread quickly (with N representing total population, S the number of susceptible people, Z the zombies, and b the likelihood of transmission). It also shows that zombies would overtake the world— there's no chance for a "stable equilibrium" in which humans could coexist with the undead or eradicate the disease.
Only coordinated attacks against the zombies would save humanity, the model shows.

Been following the news....sounds like this season will be pretty sweet. I kind of hope it isn't Judith that buys it thought, as Rick has been through enough and I don't want the focus to be on his insanity again.

On another point - haven't been able to find news re webisodes for this season. Anyone find anything?

Re: The Walking Dead

Finished watching the Third Season (again) with a friend who missed the last half of the season because he dropped his cable. Anyway, we were talking about what Carl does near the end of the episode and we were both pretty much in agreement that what Carl did wasn't "that bad."

Carl told the kid to drop the rifle and the kid was more handing it over which could put Carl (and further Hershel, the baby and Hershel's younger daughter) at risk as Carl would have to lower his own weapon to retrieve the rifle. In this kind of world and climate why chance it and "trust" anyone? You tell someone to drop their gun and they don't and, instead, sort of slowly hand it over why take the risk that something will go wrong by lowering your own guard to get it. Hell as a policeman Rick should get that. (Though he wasn't told the whole story/details by either Carl or Hershel.)

It must not be a real young baby because without teeth how would an infant be a threat?

Re: The Walking Dead

Surely not an infant, but maybe not a full set of teeth either. If the baby's hungry enough, it could do some damage.

Personally, I'm hoping little Asskicker says amongst the living. Wasn't there a baby mentioned in Woodbury last season?

When Andrea first showed up in Woodbury one of townspeople showing her around the following morning pointed out a woman who was pregnant and due any day now.

I really doubt the baby that will die will be Julia/Little Asskicker. That happening would push Rick ever further down the dark side that he's just recovered from if only slightly. It's more likely a baby from one of the bus-load of red-shirts they inherited and the end of the third season. (Probably the baby of the woman pregnant at Woodbury.)

It's funny, during the marathon segments with Kevin Smith when he's in the zombie-body prop room he points out the Michael Roker (Merle) prop and says they worked together on "Mallrats." Not recognizing Merle I had to look it up and was like, "Holy cow!" and I clearly see it now. Merle was Mr. Svenning (the love-connection show producer/antagonist to T.S. and Bordy during the day) He's the one that got the stink-palmed chocolate pretzels from Brody!

Yep, Roker's been around for years playing thugs and villains on tv and movies. It's nice that he finally got a big break with TWD.
