Fantastic! I'd love to see these linked to larger versions - they really look authentic

Thanks Ptrope! Both you and Arcas have done fantastic work as well! I could make them a bit larger, however I don't want to get too large as a certain overall effect is lost. Arcas has some brilliant covers, but I have to scroll to see the whole cover.

Any thoughts on that tech manual suggestion?
Actually, Arcas has done some cool tech manual-style illustrations of the Ranger-class:

And, inspired by his sterling example, I went for the human side of the manual:

Hey! That's a pretty snazzy approach to the TO uniform pages. I like it.

As well as the already suggested outlines for the abortive Phase II series, there's this list of unused story ideas for the Original Series over on Memory Alpha for book cover ideas.

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Unde...eries_episodes

I know only some of them have the basic synopsis listed, but even the titles may suggest ideas.

Nice work guys!! Actually I had you in mind for the "human" part of the manual. It's like you were readin' my mind Ptrope!

And that tribble cover is one of the most awesome things in the history of awesome things! Brought a big smile to my face!

That tribble one made me think "The Day of the Killer Tribbles".

Was that a book, or just a movie?

Fantastic work, guys. Especially loved the retro-50s SF mags.

From May 1958.

The book would be re-issued eight months later as "Beyond The Farthest Star And Other Stories".

You know Star Trek Online has something similar to the tribbles from that story but they only eat other tribbles.

I'd suspect ours was published earlier.

Re: The Library of Star Treks That Never Were - Book cover designs

Another issue of Compelling magazine (I've decided to bump the timeline back by three years and will have to tweak the dates on issues done so far).

From September 1953, the first part of "The Way Of The Tyrant" about future dictator Colonel Green. The story contains a throwaway line about Khan Singh from "Last Days Of The Supermen" and it was here that Roddenberry had the first inkling of creating a future history.

Edit: Working late on little sleep is good for creativity...bad for spelling. Will have to fix Isaac's name. Goddamitsomuch!

BTW, Graveyard of Dreams was a great story, and The Cosmic Computer was a great novel that was derived from it . Always happy to find a Piper fan .

Hey, it wasn't unusual for names to be misspelled in the old pulps, even on covers. Not just pulps, either - Jethro Tull's first single was published as being from "Jethro Toe" .

...and the Al Stewart album Year of the Cat had "On the Bornder" listed on the back cover. It's on the CD too, as they just copied the pic lol.
