Thanks, lennier1, Albertese.

This is going to have to be my final run at the image. I mixed in a photo of rock into the texture, but not by too much... can't have the rock-face looking too good, it'll show up the model.

Great, that's a definite improvement!

BTW: Check out the link in post #15. Your model actually looks quite good if you apply 90's TV standards as a comparison baseline.

What 3D Modeling software are you using?

Cause if your using a Blinn to get your spec/reflections I might have a tutorial for you to use to push the spec in a better direction.

Blender. I haven't got too far with lighting and rendering using the software, as you can probably tell, so any help would be appreciated.

Well done, Starscape! I wonder if this version of the Pegasus will be put back into the TNG episode...

^^^ It would be nice if they did that, but IIRC, there were Oberth-style MSD's in various locations on the set, which would also have to be altered during the remastering process. It might be cost prohibitive to do that, but we can always hope...

For those interested, when I learned that the Pegasus was supposed to be an Ambassador-era Miranda/Nebula-type, I built these schematics based on the original MSD side-view by Rick Sternbach. I think I got them pretty close...

Thanks, JJohnson.

Yeah, I think TNG-R are committed to keeping as much of the original footage as they can. So, not much chance of a replacement model.

I think I probably worked from the same MSD view... although, I took a few liberties with the design - most of which are hidden by rock in that image.
