I know Trek has never been as strong in the toy area as other franchises... freakin' Star Wars...

But... with the new movie, where are the toys?! Are there any? I haven't seen any anywhere I've looked.

Only thing I've come across online is a Hot Wheels Enterprise, and it's horrible looking.

I'd like to get a little Enterprise model/toy. There was the Playmates one from the 09 movie.
Toys R Us is about the only place in my area that seems to sell Star Trek toys. It's a shame. Probably because they don't sell as well.

Anyone know why the Hallmark Kelvin is going for $100 on ebay?
I thought the Hallmark figures were usually between $30-$40
The person who's selling it on eBay wants to make $60-$70 in profit.
Looking at completed auctions, all the $100+ ones are for the SDCC exclusive battle-damaged variant.

The more exclusive the item, the higher the asking price.

If it's one of the ones that makes sound/vibrates, set it to Klingon mode if you really want to piss off the cat.

OK.....I see as they are preorder. The Hallmark ornaments have not been released yet. I wish we could get a decent model kit of the Kelvin.

Re: Where are the toys?

I found another Hotwheels enterprise at Wal-Mart, despite their best efforts to keep Trek stuff of their shelves, it was hiding in the corner like a diecast cockroach. In Wal-Mart's defense (can't believe I'm uttering that phrase), the customer base they have, 99.9% of kids and 95% of adults who visit there are not interested in Star Trek merchandise. as another poster stated elsewhere, alot of us Star trek fans have a little bit of delusions of grandeur when it comes to how popular we think star trek is out in the world. (not very) I am thankful enough for the tie in merch. we did get.

Art Asylum has Minimates and Mego style dolls
AA (DST, actually) only has rights to Trek Prime, not the new films. Viacom has Trek split between CBS and Paramount so they license them seperately.

I'd be fine with Minimates based on the new films. I've only seen pictures of these mythical Hot Wheels Star Trek vehicles. Hasbro's Kre-O sets and Fighter Pods are everywhere though.

After Playmates lost their Trek license, DST could have extended theirs to include both Star Trek XI and Star Trek XII, but chose not to. Hasbro then stepped in and got a full license from TOS to Star Trek XII just like Mattel did for their Hot Wheels line.

I own about half of the Hot Wheels run from the first 3 series they released; was able to get all the Enterprises except the NX-01. I ended up getting them off of eBay the year after they came out though. I'm still kicking myself I didn't buy them when they originally came out. Would have saved myself about $10 a ship and been able to spend that on others in the series.

I made sure to get the series they just released (Excelsior, Kelvin, Vengeance, STiD Bird-of-Prey); found them online before everyone ran out of pre-orders.

I'm going to make sure I sign up for that Star Trek Collection Eaglemoss is going to release here in the US too. You'd think I'd learn to never pass up on miniature space-ships.

It kind of irritates me that Hasbro has the licensing to make all sorts of toys from the entirety of Star Trek and all they've made so far were some Lego ripoffs no one bought.

They should have made all the Trek characters in 3 3/4 size and stuffed them on shelves next to the Star Wars figures. I know I'm not the only collector who would buy a James T. Kirk & a Luke Skywalker so they can team up to take out Darth Vader and his Klingon troops.
