The color palette for this film seems a bit muted and grey for a superman film. Almost a bit rough, as if unfinished...
I like the colors in this movie...they seem natural and not over the top.

I grade on an odd curve, it's probably more a straight-B movie but that felt too low. Yeah it is almost a BB feel. I really liked it, more on reflection, and I'll see it again on release but its not quite the Superman movie I would have liked. Still, better than SR more action and look than the Donner film(s) but still lacking "something." I'll stick around for the rest of today to answer any questions/concerns. (Spoiler Coded, of course.)
As someome who loved Batman Begins I really have no worries that I will love this movie.

I think Worldwide MoS will "fly" (pardon the pun) though domestically I think it may be a little bog down still. Am going for $600-650 million global total but with good word of mouth for the reboot and a similar impressive sequel down the line then we could see a TDK $$$ franchise level that WB want.

Actually the Batman Begins comparison I kind of understand. That was a really well-made, great looking movie with a lot of great scenes... that I still somehow had a hard time really loving.

Kinda sounds like you're the same way with this movie.
Yeah, I like it more on reflection but it just lacked... "something" there's also some Status Quo/mythology changes I'm not so sure about. Anyway, I can't wait to see it again on release. Maybe a second viewing in better seats will change my opinions on it. There's not much about the movie I didn't like (hence the high grade) there's just also not much about it I was gaga-over that made me go "That's Superman!" hence the apathetic review. I will say that Clark wearing a Royals t-shirt in one of the scenes got a great reaction from this audience, as did the "I'm from Kansas, sir." Both of those really made me smile.

For once when Perry White says "Great Ceasar's ghost", I wish Ceasar's ghost would actually show up and do battle.

Those clips were great. The few fears I had about this movie have mostly dissipated thanks to these clips. I love the look of Krypton.

Growing up in the 70s, I expect my councils to have lots of guys in robes, I still haven't adjusted to the modern guys in really bulky and ornate armor.

He was the best. That series was fantastic in it's first season. John Shea was another standout as Luthor - the best, IMO.

I dimly recall an episode of the old George Reeves TV series in which Perry was visited by Great Caesar's ghost--although it turned out to be a hoax, of course.
