It may not be Firefly, but bet good money the two of them end up working on a project together. We'll call it Star Wars: Episode VIII.

If Avengers 2/The Series both go really well, I would almost think Disney would insist upon it. And Whedon is every bit the Star Wars fan Abrams is.

I loved the original movie, gave up on the TV series five episodes in because it looked incredibly cheap and was unimaginative.

Stopped in here and there over the next decade and nothing changed.

I like JJ Abrams, but I'm started to be reminded of this quote:

Stargate was a fantastic show full of great characters, campy villains, many many story arcs that were deeply satisfying a huge amount of humour and lots of good old sci fi. It didn't take itself too seriously which set it apart from Star Trek. It was wonderful.

Regarding Henry and Forever Young were pretty decent. And the Fringe theme is dandy.

Yeah, Abrams should reboot Firefly.

The Stargate shows were flashy, fun, and mediocre. They came and went without making a real impact on anything, despite generating an inordinate number of hours of television.

I daresay that Abrams has never made anything as negligible as Stargate.

And JJ Trek is telling deep stories? They're flashy, mediocre action movies with a little sci fi that don't even impact themselves. Stargate had great stories and memorable characters.

He and Whedon would actually get on really well.
Except Whedon likes story and good characters in most of his stuff, especially if he makes it. I doubt he'd want to see Mal played by the guy from Scott Pilgrim and acting like the bearded guy from the hangover, which is probably what JJ would go with.

I think he has a deal to develop The Micronauts as a movie, and I'd really, really like to see that happen.

^Would love to see a film version of the original 11 issue story arc from the old 80's comic.

Now that J.J. Abrams has taken control of Rod Serling's last un-produced screenplay, what classic sci-fi franchise would you like J.J. to set his eyes on next?

Star Trek (done.)

Star Wars (done.)

The Twilight Zone (being adapted)

The Six Million Dollar Man (pending?)

The Outer Limits (maybe?)

The Prisoner (on the horizon?)

http://entertainment.time.com/2013/0...th-j-j-abrams/

The Black Hole. I want him to redo it by filming himself jumping into one and never coming back out.

Re: J.J. Abrams enters The Twilight Zone

And just to be a joyless pedant and kill all the fun, this new project isn't Twilight Zone, and was never intended to be Twilight Zone even when Serling wrote it.

As a rough analogy, it's equiverlent to Abrams having died in a tragic lens flare accident after setting up the pilot script for Fringe but before it had been made... and then years later someone else making it only for everyone to talk about it as if it were a new episode of Lost.

Mind, there is form for someone taking a script Serling wrote and slapping "Twilight Zone" all over it with that "Lost Classics" thing, but I don't think that's going the be the case here.
