Volgarr the Viking

Volgarr the Viking is an upcoming 2D platformer indie game for the PC that draws inspiration from 80's arcade games like Super Ghouls 'n Goblins and Rastan. The original Castlevania on the NES also serves as a big inspiration for the game. The game is expected to be released this summer.

I'm absolutely loving indie gaming these days. Professional developers stopped making the types of games that I really enjoy a long time ago, so it's great to see that indie developers are picking up the slack. I really miss how prevalent Nintendo Hard 2D platformers like this were back in the 80's and early 90's. This is definitely a day one purchase for me. Anyway, check it out.
