There was an update for the foreign numbers today. $13.1 million added for a total of $102.1 million so far. That's from 15 markets. Lots of markets to go still.

Look at the Date on BOM. Other sites aren't even that up-to-date.

The numbers for the individual countries lag on BOM, and on other sites, but if you look at the date for the foreign total of $102.1 million you'll see it's today's date. They update the individual countries when they get more particularized information.

STiD has a much more staggered international release than Star Trek, but it's been posting good gains in the territories it's been released in so far. It's already made over 80% of Star Trek's foreign total.

Does anyone know if STID was shown or even filmed in that new format that the Hobbit was filmed in? I think its called High Frame Rate.
Only the Hobbit was filmed that way.

BOM only has 15 individual territories listed. But you're absolutely right, Flake. It is currently 40 territories. I had forgotten that.

They also give the film a budget of 250 million.

Re: STID "tracking" for $85-90 million opening [U.S. box office]

I don't know why they have the budget so high, but the foreign numbers they're reporting come from the studio and have been reported by other outlets, too. Here's confirmation from The Hollywood Reporter:

Overseas, Into Darkness crossed the $100 million mark, grossing $13.1 million for the weekend from 40 markets for an international total of $102.1 million and global gross of $150.1 million through Monday. Into Darkness is only playing in half the international marketplace. Next weekend, it opens in China and South Korea, both crucial markets.
Looks like they've got a typo for the global gross, though.

Nice! It was a nice surprise to wake up to this morning (it's 7.30 am here in Oz), and see that it is well over 200 mil worldwide now. The overseas total should be way ahead of Trek 09. Chances of a sequel are looking good. Great news.

The best part is that it hasn't even opened everywhere yet, and won't for months. This movie should end up doing quite well indeed.

STiD should make around $10 million on Monday for a $48 million 4-day weekend.
Noticed the official studio estimate is $48 million for 4 days. Putting it about $156 million US for 11 days. It will run only $3.5 million below TH3 for the weekend..staggering.

I think there's going to be a lot of concern at Paramount that this movie is going to end up grossing less domestically than Star Trek 2009.

Im doubting it now. While it may make less than the adjusted number for ST09 it is likely going to break $258 million....but less than the $325 million I predicted. The movie certainly appears to have legs, and there is minimal competition till Man of Steel. So $260 million plus about $180 million foreign, means $440 million. The ST franchise could do worse than have a new box office leader.
