Re: ENTERPRISE on Blu-Ray OFFICIAL Discussion Thread

I'm nearing the end of season 1 and just sat through Rogue Planet and Acquisition. I'm noticing a lot of print damage on these episodes. There are several instances of (quite) noticable scratches, speckles and what looked like a hair. Anyone else notice it?

Yes. I'm not certain where but I noticed it too. Also I remember something about Desert Crossing not looking right ... I have to take out my blu-ray to confirm it (not now)

So they won't be going with the cast lazily standing around season 2 original cover?

I think that was always a placeholder design so they could put it into the S2 trailer. This design looks much more polished and professional.

Nice cover - including all the primary cast members to boot! Wonder if it'll be embossed a la season 1?

The cover's got a little too much blue on it but otherwise I like it.

Of course, it'll be interesting to see if CBS puts season 4 out in 1080i or 1080p. All the S4 live-action (except the opening to "In A Mirror Darkly, Part1" which was still shot on film) was shot on 1080i HD tape.
Are you sure about that? I don't recall any "soap opera effect", which certainly would've been noticed if they shot 1080i instead of 1080p...
Deinterlacing isn't what causes the soap-opera effect.

Re: ENTERPRISE on Blu-Ray OFFICIAL Discussion Thread

Amazon US has it for preorder at a laughable price of $83.99, but Amazon UK has it for sale at an amazing price of £21.82 in the UK, and just £21.26 for US buyers (with free shipping) - this works out to JUST OVER $32 USD.

Seriously, if you're going to buy the set, do it through Amazon UK and have it shipped to you. It might take an extra week to arrive, but you'll save like $50!!!

22 pounds!

Even for the worst season of Star Trek, that's a very good price.

Re: ENTERPRISE on Blu-Ray OFFICIAL Discussion Thread

Having skipped out on ENT S1 on bluray, for $30 I preordered on amazon UK. Hopefully the US price drops though so I can get the official US release (there are normally subtle differences from what I've seen between the two releases)

The only differences at this point will be in the packaging/disc design, due to UK rating info - there should not be any content differences.

Right, but consistent packaging is also important to some fans. It's not of utmost importance to me, but would be nice.

I just hope the case doesn't arrive broken, as my TNG S3 case did recently from Amazon US.

It is for me, too, but with the current $50 savings, the packaging could be drawn with crayon!
